BTS Comforts ARMYs When Belgium Concert Day 1 Was Delayed—Here’s Why

BTS are currently on the European leg of their ARIRANG World Tour, where they are meeting fans across the continent. The group has scheduled stops in five major cities: London (UK), Paris (fяαи¢є), Madrid (ѕραιи), Brussels (Belgium), and Munich (Germany). Their second destination, following the opening stop of the European leg in ѕραιи, is Brussels, Belgium. From early in the morning, thousands of ARMY from all over the world gathered around King Baudouin Stadium. Long lines also formed for merchandise purchases, but everything remained orderly.

The anticipation and excitement surrounding the concert had reached their peak, especially after the two nights of concerts in Madrid left a deep impression on both fans around the world and BTS because of the incredible enthusiasm shown by the crowd. However, the opening atmosphere of the first concert in Belgium seemed to be much slower to heat up than fans had expected!

According to the original schedule, the concert was supposed to begin at 8:00 p.m. local time. However, it was not until around 30 minutes later that smoke effects finally began to appear on the stage, followed by the familiar opening line, "Watch this, watch this beat goin' hooligan," signaling the official start of the show. In other words, the first concert in Belgium was delayed by half an hour, leaving both fans inside the stadium and those watching online increasingly anxious.

What drew even more attention, however, was that while tens of thousands of au∂ιєnce members were still waiting for BTS to take the stage, a TikTok notification suddenly appeared on their phones. Jungkook υиєχρє¢тє∂ly uploaded a dance challenge video for Singasong by SEVENTEEN's The8 and Vernon. Many fans recognized that the setting of the video looked very much like BTS's waiting room inside the stadium before going on stage. It seemed that he had filmed the video just before the concert began.

The moment immediately sparked a wave of reactions from fans, with comments such as, "Aren’t you doing a concert? OMG Jungkook", "concert scheduled at 8pm and Jungkook at 8:15pm", "Jungkook ur not being reasonable you have concert right now", "Jungkook my brother in bora, you were supposed to be on stage 20 minutes ago who is going to perform now"... Even so, many fans speculated that Jungkook uploaded the video at that particular moment to entertain fans and help ease their impatience while they were waiting for the concert to begin.

Meanwhile, ARMY who were present at the stadium also shared the reason why the concert had to be delayed. According to one fan, around one hour before the concert's scheduled starting time, stadium staff informed those waiting in line that, "There's more people outside than inside so there will be a big delay." Besides the difficulties in managing the flow of people entering the venue, some attendees said they also spent a considerable amount of time trying to locate their seats because the stadium's guidance system was not particularly effective. One fan revealed that it took her about 15 minutes just to find the correct row, while in several sections there were also cases of people sitting in the wrong seats.

Some netizens following the event observed that this was not the first time soмєтнing like this had happened. Most of the first-day concerts at several previous stops on the ARIRANG World Tour had also experienced delays because crowd management and stadium operations were not handled efficiently. However, fans also pointed out that the organizers at King Baudouin Stadium should learn from this experience and improve the operation for the second concert. Some of the discussions surrounding this incident included:

- Jungkook really said, "The concert is delayed? Fine, let me entertain ARMY for a minute." Bangtan always thinking about us

- Jungkook definitely made the wait more fun, but let's be clear—it doesn't excuse the organizers. Fans shouldn't have to wait 30 minutes because of poor crowd management

- Jungkook out here doing damage control with a dance challenge while the stadium staff were still trying to get everyone inside

- This isn't the first time Day 1 has been delayed because of stadium operations. You'd think venues would be better prepared for crowds this big by now

- I'm convinced Jungkook knew we were all just sitting there getting impatient, so he dropped that

- The organizers still need to do better tomorrow. Better signage and better crowd control would have prevented a lot of this

- They've had multiple stops before Brussels to learn from, so how are we still dealing with the exact same crowd management issues?

- It's frustrating that they still couldn't get fans into the stadium on time
