Billboard recently compiled the record of concerts in April. And of course, BTS's name can't be missing from the chart.
BTS set the record with 4 concerts in Las Vegas and replaced the biggest boxscore record set at SoFi Stadium. Besides, BTS also earned a huge amount of revenue, proving their great charm.
In the ranking of Billboard Boxscore, BTS extended their record streak with the PTD in the Las Vegas concert in just 4 nights. The tour reached #1 in the April 2022 Top Tours and Top Boxscores charts.
Specifically, BTS went to Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas to perform on April 8, 9, 15, and 16. The four shows grossed a total of $35.9 million and sold nearly 200,000 tickets by number whether reported by Billboard Boxscore.
That huge number makes April's boxscore become the biggest boxscore for BTS's career. Before that, BTS's biggest boxscore concert belonged to the concert at SoFi Stadium (Inglewood, Calif.) in 2019.
At that time, BTS earned $33.3 million, excluding multi-artist festival events, and became one of the 10 highest-grossing engagements in Billboard Boxscore’s history.
And now, it has been replaced by concerts in L.A. The Allegiant Stadium concert even became the largest boxscore ever in California, claiming all-time records for Las Vegas and the state of Nevada. It is also the second-largest North American Boxscore ever.
Concerts in Las Vegas earned $8.99 million per night, compared with $8.33 million in Los Angeles. The number of seats per night in Las Vegas is less than the number of seats for concerts in L.A. Specifically, there are an average of 49,924 fans per night, compared with 53,438 in L.A. But the average ticket increased from $155.87 to $180 making Vegas's total per night close to $9 million.
BTS's PTD In Las Vegas Concert is the 10th Boxscore with reported earnings of over $30 million. BTS, Take That, and U2 each have done it twice, while Springsteen, Roger Waters, Spice Girls, and Grateful Dead hit the $30 million.
That makes BTS the only artist not from the US or UK with the highest-grossing at a single location!
BTS' April win makes the group the seventh artist to dominate the Top Tours chart more than once, after Elton John (four times), The Rolling Stones (three), Bad Bunny, P! Nk, Post Malone, and Trans-Siberian Orchestra (two one piece). BTS previously topped the list in May 2019 with a total of $51.7 million from eight stadium performances in North and South America.
In addition, BTS's four-night Las Vegas shows not only dominated Top Tours and Top Boxscores, taking in $35.9 million. This made Allegiant Stadium the highest-grossing venue of the month and put HYBE at #4 on the Top Promoters chart, behind Live Nation, AEG Presents, and OCESA.
