According to Sports Kyunghyang, the ̾k̾o̾r̾e̾an entertainment industry is suffering due to widespread false rumors as well as celebrities' privacy being violated. It was originally an unanswerable problem, but this situation has become serious and led to many unfortunate d̾e̾a̾t̾hs of famous people in recent years.
That is why Bł₲ Ⱨł₮ Music continues to sue with zero tolerance against human rights violators that have affected BTS members over the years. Recently, even after BTS enlisted, Bł₲ Ⱨł₮ Music still showed their tough measures in investigating and punishing those who followed and posted defamatory rumors about the members on SNS.
While it doesn't solve all those who attacked BTS, it does at least make those who нυят the members face appropriate consequences:
Originally, the showbiz world is a world full of scandals and just one sentence on social networks can make famous people become the focus of discussion and criticism on social networks. And yet, not only are they attacked in cyberspace, famous people also have to live with the obsession of being chased, followed, and even attacked at their residence.
BTS is no exception, RM was once rumored to be married to a girl outside the industry even without real evidence, j-hope and Rosé became the center of discussion after just a edited photo, V was accused of having a rude attitude and abusing his clαssmates even though there was no evidence... Before joining the army, V was att@cked at his home by a woman, Jungkook was stalked 24/7 by sasaeng fans in his living area... And there are many things that the group had to endure during their 10 years as idols.
Luckily, even though there were times when they felt like they wanted to end, they were able to overcome it and still be by their fans' side. A part helps BTS to f̾i̾g̾h̾t ̾against these crazy people or toxic individuals is that they constantly f̾i̾g̾h̾t ̾ to bring them out and make them be punished by the law. Most recently, Bł₲ Ⱨł₮ Music announced the lawsuit and punishment of those who att@cked BTS, whether on SNS or in real life during the past months.
On December 29, Bł₲ Ⱨł₮ Music said through Weverse - BTS's official fan communication platform: "During this quarter, we filed multiple criminal complaints with law enforcement agencies based on evidence related to acts infringing on the rights of the artists, including defamation, submitted by our fans as well as collected through our own monitoring."
The company mentioned: "The individual we filed cr1minal complaints against for violating the Act on Punishment of Crime of Stalking mentioned in our previous notice has been subjected to criminal penalties following the prosecution’s investigation. In consideration of the seriousness of behaviors that threaten the safety and privacy of the artists, we have submitted petitions urging more stringent penalties. The individual who repeatedly visited artists’ residence was reported to the ρσℓι¢є for allegations of violation of the Act on Punishment of Crime of Stalking and trespαssing, and an investigation is underway, as reported in the media."
They also reported who leaking BTS's music: "As for the individual who previously impersonated a BTS member and leaked unreleased music, we have obtained evidence of additional crimes of artist impersonation. Additional cr1minal charges have been filed against the impersonator, leading to arrest and indictment. The trial is pending, awaiting the court’s verdict."
Regarding bad rumors, distortion or defamation of BTS members, Bł₲ Ⱨł₮ Music emphasized that it will take civil and cr1minal lєgαl action against those who spread news that harms the group's reputation. Bł₲ Ⱨł₮ Music wrote in the announcement: "Regarding the malicious rumors with evident malicious intent towards the artists, we have compiled numerous malicious postings that involve the dissemination of false information and defamation and included them in the complaint. We are applying a zero-tolerance policy as we take lєgαl action in civil and criminal proceedings against malicious rumors that undermine our artists’ reputations.
After a lengthy ρσℓι¢є investigation, the identity of an individual who repeatedly posted false information and malicious defamatory comments on NatePann and Naver, totaling dozens of cases, has been ascertained. Although the suspect in question has proposed a settlement, we clearly made our stance to pursue lєgαl accountability to the fullest extent without settling."
Finally, they urge fans to continue protecting BTS by reporting these cases: "BIGHIT MUSIC regularly collects information on malicious postings regarding BTS, reports them to the authorities, and takes lєgαl actions. We will continue taking lєgαl action without interruption, even while all members are fulfilling their m̴i̴l̴i̴t̴a̴r̴y̴ service. We will continue to adhere to strict measures and our policy of no settlement and no leniency to hold suspects accountable. We ask that you make continued use of our lєgαl affairs hotline (protect@bigḧïẗmusic.co.kr) to report any cases of abuse. We are always grateful for the affection and dedication shown by the fans of BTS. BIGHIT MUSIC will continue to work to ensure that the rights of our artists are fully protected. Thank you".
