Big Hit Music Announces That BTS Stalker Was Arrested & Heavily Fined By Court

Everyone dreams of reaching the glory of celebrity. However, once they have achieved success, many of them regret losing their private lives. They hopelessly run away from all kinds of fans, private news hunters, paparazzi, and not a few stalkers.

It is worth mentioning that idols are not at fault in this and they do not deserve to suffer these things. The fault lies in the morality of the stalkers and their abnormal psychology.

BTS, the top Kpop superstars today, cannot avoid having to face stalkers despite taking all measures. But at least, Big Hit Music recently announced that some bad guys have been punished by law for violating the privacy of idols.

Specifically, on the 31st of this month, Big Hit Music announced to fans that an individual recently faced severe legal action for stalking BTS. The notice said the incident occurred in late 2024 and the agency filed a ρσℓι¢є report shortly after.

"At the end of last year, a serious criminal act, including stalking, was committed against our artist, prompting an immediate action on our part. We filed a report to the ρσℓι¢є, and the perpetrator was arrested in flagrante delicto, subsequently detained, and prosecuted", Big Hit said.

The agency added that the perpetrator was sentenced by a court earlier this year. They were fined 10.0 million KRW (about $6,790 USD).

"Earlier this year, the court sentenced the perpetrator to a fine of 10 million KRW", Big Hit mentioned in the statement.

While BIGHIT MUSIC did not specify which BTS member was the victim in this incident, ARMYs realized that it could be V. Around November last year, a woman was investigated by the ρσℓι¢є for approaching V, talking to him, and even handing him a marriage registration form in the area where he lived.

After receiving a report from a security guard, the ρσℓι¢є summoned and investigated the stalker. The ρσℓι¢є discovered that the defendant had visited V's apartment multiple times before. As a result, the ρσℓι¢є quickly applied for an emergency restraining order against Ms. A, prohibiting her from staying within 100 meters of the male singer and contacting him via text messages or phone calls.

At the time, fans expressed concern about the increasing number of privacy violations against group members. When Big Hit Music made an official announcement to close this matter, fans felt more reαѕѕured and believed that it was an example for those with bad intentions.

In addition, in Big Hit Music's announcement, the company also mentioned their legal action against another case of violating BTS' rights and safety - the malicious YouTube channel Sojang (also known as Taldeok Camp).

"As you may have seen in the media, the first-instance court has ruled that “Taldeok Camp,” a so-called “cyber wrecker” YouTuber, is liable for damages amounting to 76 million KRW.

“Taldeok Camp” has filed an appeal since, and we are actively responding in the appellate process. We remain committed to ensuring that “Taldeok Camp” is held fully accountable for the illegal actions committed against our artists", Big Hit expressed its clear stance.

It is known that this Youtube channel has previously posted many false, unverified rumors about BTS members. It includes news about RM dating a rich girl, V being an alcoholic and having a violent habit, Jungkook dating Lee Yu Bi,... defaming the honor of the members.

Not only that, the owner of this Youtube channel has posted many defamatory news about other Kpop artists. Along with BTS, earlier this year many artists filed lawsuits and brought Sojang to court with heavy penalties, ending the obsession.
