In an interview, Yeo Jin Goo confirmed that he tends to form friendships with people his own age within the entertainment industry. What is particularly noteworthy, however, is that he and Jungkook did not become friends directly at first, but were introduced through a mutual acquaintance and the two quickly grew close over a surprisingly shared hobby: football.

The actor shared, "I’ve begun making friends in the same field. Jungkook is actually a friend of a friend. And that friend isn’t from the entertainment business… But that’s how I was introduced to Jungkook. Through soccer."
