V has always been known as a person who likes to interact with fans and he always shares his honest thoughts with fans. However, in some cases, he has fooled his fans in search of the truth.
Most notably, during a casual encounter with fans during a game, he pretended to be his own antifan to see how ARMYs reacted to it. And of course, V got the answer he wanted about the true love that ARMYs have for BTS.
Here is the situation told by V himself and the fans are also relieved that he chatted with genuine fans:
It is always said that if you become a celebrity, you have to bear the weight of the "crown" on your head. Obviously, becoming a K-pop idol, even a global K-pop superstar, V and BTS have to deal with a lot of things, including people who like and dislike them for certain reasons.
Even if he himself is not at fault or did nothing wrong, he can still be attacked or hated by anti-fans, non-fans, or especially recently akgaes - the type of malicious individual fan. Although he doesn't usually share much about how he's aware of it, through his stories, it's understandable that V is well aware of what's going on in the fandom and SNS. He is also very attentive to what is going on around him.
In the recent context, when the akgaes started campaigns against the group members and ruined the members' honor, a long story about V tried to be such a bad fan to see the reactions of ARMYs is spreading again. That legendary situation was told by V himself, and the results of ARMY's reaction surprised him and BTS.
Specifically, when the members discussed what ARMYs' enthusiasm and love for BTS means, V suddenly remembered a valuable experience he had with fans. That's when he ran into an ARMY while playing a mobile game.
The situation made him think that he wanted to see how they would react if they encountered a particular BTS fan who didn't like a member of the group. He even took it upon himself to test.
He recounted the starting situation, "When I was playing a mobile game during filming (break time), someone said (in the chatroom), 'Who likes BTS?’ So I said, ‘Me, me,’ and sent the person a direct message."
He then explained that he had seen ARMY's name in the game with SUGA's name on it, so he asked if the person was a SUGA fan. V said, "The ID was Ultra Suga or somєthing like that. I asked, 'So you must like SUGA?' "
ARMY then confirmed that she loves SUGA the most in the group, "The person said, ‘Yes, I like him so much.’"
Upon hearing that, V deliberately told the other ARMYs that he didn't like V in BTS to see how they would react: "I asked, ‘I dislike V the most. What do you think?’". V didn't seem to have anticipated ARMY's sweet reply. She responded: "I cherish all of them, they’re all so precious".
V was really surprised by the amazing reaction of the ARMYs in the story as they quickly concluded to affirm their love for all 7 members equally regardless of their bias. He really felt warm inside and the members agreed with that when they heard his story.
Even though we know that loving or hating this member and that of another member is a personal choice, but really, a true ARMY is someone who always loves the 7 members of the group because BTS is only complete when there are 7. Hopefully, through V's story, you will see the true value of a fan, not only to BTS but to all other groups.
