BTS arrived in мєχι¢σ on May 5 to prepare for their three-day concert series on May 7, 9, and 10 at Estadio GNP Seguros. As soon as ticket sales opened, all seats for the three shows sold out almost immediately, proving the group’s enormous popularity in the Latin αмєяι¢αn country. According to estimates from the мєχι¢σ City Chamber of Commerce, BTS’s tour is expected to generate an economic impact of approximately $107.5 million USD.
With the tremendous influence BTS has in мєχι¢σ, Claudia Sheinbaum officially invited the group to visit National Palace ahead of their performances. There, BTS was welcomed with honors reserved for “Distinguished Guests” and received a commemorative medal recognizing the group’s positive contributions to Mexican youth. The medal emphasized how BTS has inspired people through music while helping build a community centered on respect, empathy, diversity, and peace.
After speaking with President Sheinbaum, all seven BTS members also appeared and greeted the crowd of fans gathered at Zócalo. BTS’s appearance turned central мєχι¢σ City into what many described as a “sea of people,” with an estimated 50,000 fans gathering while holding banners reading, “BTS is always in the heart of мєχι¢σ.” Faced with the overwhelming scene, the members continuously waved, made finger-heart gestures, and thanked fans in Spanish, saying: “Your energy is amazing. Thank you for always supporting us.”
During this moment, fans paid particular attention to one thoughtful gesture from V toward the President!
In a video that quickly went viral on social media, the microphone on the balcony was positioned slightly too high for President Sheinbaum’s height. V immediately stepped in to tilt the microphone downward and held it in place so she could comfortably address the crowd of tens of thousands of people. The gesture happened naturally, but fans could not stop praising the idol’s thoughtfulness and attentiveness.
Not only that, fans also noticed that earlier, when BTS had just stepped onto the balcony, V quickly extended his hand in a gesture inviting the Mexican President to stand in the center position.
