V’s Question Goes Viral For Fielding Opposite Answers From Korean And International Fans

It is not difficult to see that BTS members are always the center of media attention. Even stories from the past can go viral quickly when repeated.

The case below of V is an example of that. A topic that naturally attracted the attention and discussion of many people including K-netizens and the public around the world when searching for an answer to V's question about 2 years ago. Everyone was surprised when this story suddenly went viral again.

Try to find out what netizens are talking about these days:

Since BTS became famous and influential globally, they naturally received a lot of attention from the public. Therefore, every day there are many topics or stories revolving around BTS members from their visuals to their actions or their lives.

But on March 6, a post in an online community went viral, also about V but it came from a post by him 2 years ago. In the post titled, “International Fans Are Saying No, While Korean Fans Are Saying It’s Ok To BTS V’s Question,” the author shared a humorous anecdote about when V put a question.

This happened in late 2021 when V posted a picture of himself cooking ramen to his Instagram story. He then asked a question on Weverse, his online fan community, about whether he could eat a bag of kimchi.

The special thing is that the picture of the kimchi package taken by V shows that the kimchi is about two months old and has pαssed the expiration date stated on the label by about a month. Therefore, V asked his fans if it was okay to eat it.

He wrote: "Question. This is Bibigo kimchi, but since it becomes ‘aged kimchi’ if it pαsses its expiration date, it should be alright to eat, right?"

Although the question has been around for a long time, it has caught some people's attention by surprise because of the mixed reaction it has received from кσяєαn and international fans. Therefore, this topic quickly becomes an interesting topic of discussion at the moment

When receiving a question from V at that time, the majority of international fans commented that V should not eat kimchi because it has expired. Fans are worried about the idol's health and expressed concern that he will have serious problems after using expired food:

- NOooo, don't eat it

- Please, don't eat it, buy another

- tete don't eat that

-  Omg, no Tae! It has an expiration date for a reason

- Taehyung noooo

However, кσяєαn fans showed a different reaction when saying that he can eat "expired" kimchi if it doesn't have mold or unusual taste:

- As long as it isn’t moldy, it’s fine.

- Oppa, you know that ‘old kimchi‘ is actually the tastiest, right?

- It’s actually better (if it’s aged), you know this.

In кσяєα, kimchi is usually made in bulk in November and December and then stored in jars or refrigerated boxes. By doing this, kimchi is eaten by families all year round.

As the seasons change, so does the taste, aroma, and texture of kimchi. Many кσяєαns actually prefer the taste of aged kimchi over freshly made batches of kimchi. Many people also believe that the longer kimchi is kept, the better its taste.

Netizens expressed that they also prefer to eat aged kimchi and said that it would be better for V to eat kimchi that has just expired for one month:

- It (aged kimchi) is actually better, you know.

- If it’s a month (pαssed the expiration date), then it is perfect to put in the broth.

- If you don’t open the package, then it doesn’t even ripen as fast, so the expiration date really doesn’t matter.

- That kimchi is basically brand new, LOL.”

- LOL, it’s tasty kimchi.

- I prefer this (my kimchi aged). If you make fried rice with it, it is tasty AF, LOL.

- I eat kimchi that is years old.

- If he didn’t open the package, then it probably isn’t that ripe, LOL. It’s actually better (when the kimchi is aged).

- Is he saying ,kimachi is already fermented (acted upon by bacterias for fermentation) so what tf if i eat it even after expire date!!! JUST FEW MORE BACTERIAS

- Yes I think it’s still ok …or well it depends on the food too …because usually the date is indicating that you can get the best flavor before that date unless it’s beeen moonths ?
