On this day, ARMYs around the world are celebrating Christmas together with all the members of BTS. Starting on the 21st, the members held a livestream to send early holiday greetings to the fandom. This marks the first year in three years that fans have been able to celebrate Christmas and welcome the New Year with the group as a complete seven-member lineup, following the group’s hiatus due to mandatory military service.
Meanwhile, the members have been delivering their greetings in various ways through social media activities, including sharing photos and heartfelt messages. Among them, V has been especially dubbed “Myungdong-young” (a face like a painting, a personality like a fairy tale, and a life like a movie) for a moment in which he spread warmth across the world through a simple, heartfelt story.
At around 2 a.m. on the 24th, V went live on Weverse for a three-minute livestream. Just after arriving home, with a slightly excited expression, he said: “I turned this on briefly because I have soмєтнing to brag about. Please listen just once. On my way home today after taking a taxi, the taxi driver said, ‘This is a surprise gift. A Christmas present. Turkish chocolate,’ and gave me some chocolate. I received it while saying, ‘Thank you. But Santa Claus V did not visit only on the 24th. On the 25th, he once again knocked on the doors of ARMYs worldwide with another short broadcast of just a few minutes, chatting with fans before bedtime. This time, however, he did not show his face on camera and appeared only with audio, leaving fans curious as to whether soмєтнing was amiss. This photo zone recreates images of V with his beloved dog Yeontan, while also commemorating the fourth anniversary of the release of his solo song “Christmas Tree.” The space is decorated around the theme of a giant three-meter-tall Christmas tree, serving as a check-in spot where fans can visit in person and take photos. A total of 50 “treasure notes” were hidden at taxi shelters in front of HYBE and throughout the park; fans who find them receive a variety of gifts from brands V has represented in campaigns, such as TIRTIR and Compose Coffee.
