As celebrities, BTS members in general – and V in particular – are constantly under public scrutiny whenever they appear in public places. Even during casual activities like having a meal or hanging out with friends – moments when they are not appearing as idols – they are often surrounded by fans.
More than once, ARMYs have condemned fans who revealed the members’ whereabouts on social media, making it impossible for them to enjoy their private time comfortably.
Earlier this September, the fandom expressed outrage when an ARMY reported that V and Jungkook had to leave a restaurant mid-dinner after being spotted. News of their presence quickly spread, drawing a crowd that disrupted their meal and the restaurant’s atmosphere.
However, one swallow doesn’t make a summer! True and loyal ARMYs are always mindful of respecting the idols’ privacy. There are countless occasions where fans encounter BTS members without disturbing them. In return, they are rewarded with the idols’ heartfelt appreciation.
Recently, V personally praised ARMYs’ behavior when they jogged together along the Han River, following the suggestion he and Jungkook made earlier. Their polite and considerate behavior left V deeply satisfied and grateful – so much so that he even considered giving them a gift as a token of his appreciation.
While active on Weverse, a fan asked him about the experience, and he immediately responded: “Since no eye witness accounts have ever been posted I want to thank ARMYs for being ever so considerate. Next time I meet them, I should repay/give them a gift or soмєтнing. Thanks to their consideration and politeness , I’ve been going to the mountain a lot.”
He went on to explain in more detail: “And honestly speaking Armys have been so gentle and polite with me it’s not even a joke. If they ever run into me they don’t even talk to me, they give me my own space, they don’t even run alongside me. Thats the generosity they show me. And if they do spot me they just greet me with that BTS greeting gesture with an indifferent attitude that says “It doesn’t matter if you’re here or not,” and I absolutely loved it every moment of it and found it funny and super nice.”
The situation of V jogging with ARMYs around the Han River originated from a livestream he did with Jungkook not long ago, where they revealed: “We decided to do cardio three times a week near the Han River”, "We ran around 8-9pm at night” and even suggested, “ARMYs, you can jog together.”
When making this suggestion, V highlighted a few rules to maintain a positive jogging experience, including: “Don’t talk to us but let’s run along side”, "While running just gesture us you’re ARMY but don’t do this silly stuff (pointing fingers etc)", "Don’t take our pic while we drooling", "Don’t stop running and walking".
And ARMYs truly listened, earning high praise from V! What touched him even more was the effort it took for fans to exercise such restraint, soмєтнing he knew wasn’t easy. On the other hand, thanks to them, he found himself exercising more regularly. That’s why he came up with the idea of giving them a gift as a way of giving back.
