V Draws Attention by Publicly Showing His Support for Palestine at Today’s Concert

During BTS’ first World Tour stop in Peru in 13 years since their debut, V has become a major focus of local media thanks to his special appreciation for the country’s culture. From government agencies such as RENIEC and MIDAGRI to major media outlets and broadcasters including El Comercio, Latina Televisión, and Andina, numerous reports have highlighted the singer’s excitement about trying local food, learning Peruvian slang, and revisiting his dream of visiting Machu Picchu.

Notably, V’s appeal has gone beyond simply embracing the local culture. Another particular detail from V’s first night in Lima is now drawing attention around the world — as netizens believe it may have carried a message directly related to Palestine.

After the first concert ended, several photos and video clips from V’s performance of “Dynamite” quickly spread across social media. Fans were particularly focused on the idol’s outfit. Similar to his looks at previous stops, V appeared in a street-style performance outfit consisting of a daringly cut black tank top printed with the words “ARIRANG WORLD TOUR,” brown pants, a black beanie, and a red microphone.

But if that were all, it probably would not have sparked this much discussion! The most noticeable detail of the outfit was a piece of black-and-wнιтe checkered fabric tied around V’s waist. Some fans immediately believed that the idol was wearing a keffiyeh — a scarf closely αѕѕociated with Palestinian identity. CNN Style previously published an article explaining that although the keffiyeh has long been widely worn across the Middle East, in recent decades, it has particularly become a symbol of Palestinian identity and resistance.

CNN also explained that the keffiyeh took on additional political significance during the Arab Revolt of 1936–1939, when Palestinians from different social and religious backgrounds used the black-and-wнιтe scarf as a symbol of unity. Later, Yαѕѕer Arafat’s frequent appearances wearing a keffiyeh further strengthened its αѕѕociation with the Palestinian national struggle. At pro-Palestinian demonstrations around the world, participants also often wear keffiyehs to show solidarity with the Palestinian people.

As a result, many fans believed that V was showing his support for the Palestinian community amid the war in Gaza, reacting emotionally. However, after the news was widely shared, some fans who were familiar with keffiyehs pointed out that this could have been a misunderstanding.

One fan wrote: “So just to clarify as an ARMY who owns multiple keffiyehs, Taehyung did not wear a keffiyeh. Keffiyeh’s have a very specific pattern on them, but he did wear a scarf that resembled a keffiyeh and that does feel very intentional”. She also added, “I’m happy tae is wearing a scarf resembling a keffiyeh! I'm being supportive of his choice to wear that scarf”.

On the other hand, fans also brought up another detail from V’s past to support their speculation that, although quietly, V has shown his support for Palestine. The detail in question is that he has been seen wearing Save One bracelets from Save the Children on multiple occasions. Launched in 2022, the campaign aims to support children affected by emergencies caused by conflict, famine, natural disasters, and other crises, including children living in war-affected areas such as Gaza.

Although these actions do not amount to an official statement from V regarding his stance on Palestine, many fans still view them as signs that he cares about humanitarian issues and were particularly moved by what they saw, expressing: "I'm so proud of him. May Allah protect them from all evil", " Wearing it on oct7 May Allah blessed you taehyung", "I love him so much, he'll never be the bad guy everyone wants him to be", "As a Palestinian it mean so much , I'd give him the herbawi original ones if i could", "From jimin wearing palestine's shirt to tae wearing keffiyeh on stage, they keep on gaining my respects", "It’s not the first time he has shown his support. I’m genuinely so happy",...
