Unknown Fact About SUGA Revealed By Former Trainee Who Nearly Debuted With BTS Leaves Fans In Tears

The reputation of the “golden character” of the members of BTS has spread widely — from fans to non-fans, from staff to industry colleagues, and even to international artists. From the earliest days of their careers as rookies to their rise as global superstars, the image of a humble, down-to-earth, and kind BTS has never faded. This consistency between extraordinary success and gentle character is what makes BTS admired not only for their talent, but also for the people they are behind the spotlight.

To further illustrate this point, it is worth revisiting one of the many stories about BTS’s genuine character dating back to their youth. Specifically, a former trainee at BigHit — who nearly debuted in the final lineup of BTS — once shared a story about an act of kindness by SUGA during their trainee days, soмєтнing he says he remains deeply grateful for.

That trainee is Kim Jihoon, now a well-known YouTuber under the name Bitoon. He trained at Big Hit Entertainment for a short period from around 2011 to 2012. Later, due to the company’s decision, he was cut from the group before BTS officially debuted as the seven-member lineup known today.

Although he did not debut with the group, he spent time practicing and living in the dorm with the official BTS members for a period. They shared many fond memories together, such as secretly bringing fried chicken into the dorm. In particular, when recalling his time living with BTS, he did not hesitate to praise the members and share his most sincere thoughts about the admirable qualities the superstars already possessed even back then.

In a viral video on 대범한TV, he recounted a touching memory between himself and SUGA that reflected the warmth behind the BTS rapper’s often cool exterior. Kim Jihoon shared, “One day, I was very sick at dawn. Yoongi (SUGA’s real name) came, took care of me, and brought me to the hospital. When I woke up the next day, he was still there. I asked, ‘Why are you still here and not resting at home?’ and SUGA replied, ‘I’m not leaving you here.’ He even paid the hospital bill for me.”

Kim emphasized that SUGA’s words and actions that day left a deep mark on his memory — soмєтнing he will never forget. Notably, at the time, SUGA was not a wealthy trainee, yet he was still willing to cover the expensive hospital fees and care for his fellow trainee until Kim recovered.

This was not the first time Kim had shared this story. In an older video on his own YouTube channel, he described the incident in detail. He woke up in the middle of the night feeling dizzy and nauseous, stumbling to the bathroom and vomiting repeatedly. SUGA knocked on the door to check on him.

Realizing that Jihoon was unwell, SUGA handed him a jacket and helped him get into a taxi to the emergency room. There, Jihoon was admitted and underwent tests to αѕѕess his condition. The next morning, when he woke up, he saw that SUGA was still by his side — and the rest of the story unfolded as he had previously shared.

Kim has mentioned this story many times, showing how truly grateful he is for SUGA’s kindness. Not only Kim, but his parents also expressed their gratitude to SUGA for helping their son during such a difficult time. At this point, ARMYs could not be prouder of their idol, leaving comments praising his warm and compαѕѕionate heart:
