Over the past decade, BTS have had the opportunity to work with numerous directors and creative directors on their music videos. Among them are veteran music video directors Kim Jun Hong and Hong Won Gi from ZANYBROS.

Founded in 2002, ZANYBROS has grown into one of the most influential music video production companies of the кσяєαn Wave. They were also among the first producers to collaborate with BTS from their early debut days, working on one of the group’s most beloved music videos at the time — W@r of Horm0ne, released in 2014.
In fact, W@r of Horm0ne is not considered the most outstanding MV in BTS’s career, nor does it feature particularly unique settings. It was simply filmed in a school decorated with banners and slogans related to the group. The entire MV was shot in black and wнιтe, using a one-take style, which was a popular filming approach in K-pop music videos at the time.
However, many ARMYs admit that this very MV was what made them decide to join the fandom. The combination of music and visuals in W@r of Horm0ne delivered a sense of excitement and high energy that resonated strongly with viewers.

Despite receiving positive feedback from fans, more than a decade after the MV’s production, the two talented directors still carry a lingering regret over soмєтнing they were unable to fulfill at the request of Kim Tae-hyung. Even when recalling their filming memories with BTS, both expressed apologies for not being able to do their best in that moment.
More specifically, if you remember, V was seen holding a lollipop in several scenes of W@r of Horm0ne. Looking back, Kim Jun Hong recalled a request V made during filming: V wanted to throw the lollipop and hoped the director could catch that moment on camera to recreate it in the MV, as it could serve as a highlight.
However, Kim Jun Hong failed to catch the lollipop, and it broke after V threw it. In the end, after finishing the shoot, he lightheartedly apologized to V for not being able to capture the full scene. He recounted the situation: "When V requested that "Director ~ I'm gonna start with a lolly in my mouth then throw it away so please catch it"...The lolly was all broken...I'm sorry".

The regret of not being able to fulfill V’s request has stayed with him ever since. However, fans later reαѕѕured him that even without completing that scene as planned, the MV was still excellent. When appearing on the YouTube series “Comment Defenders” by AYO, both Kim Jun Hong and Hong Won Gi received a great deal of positive feedback from fans regarding their work with BTS. Some ARMYs even expressed support for future collaborations between the two sides.
And one thing fans are certain of is that V was never disappointed just because the director couldn’t capture that moment—because BTS have always shown respect for everyone who works wholeheartedly with them.
