The members of BTS have a habit of sending ARMYs into meltdown when they post something on social media, whether it’s Twitter, Weverse, or Instagram. Recently, Jungkook‘s influence was on show when one of his tweets made it onto a list of the most iconic posts since the platform was created.
Although the group’s own Twitter account isn’t used much, when a member posts something, it sends the internet into meltdown. Jungkook is no exception and, over the years, the idol has gone viral for his posts on the account.
It seems like aside from all the times Jungkook has managed to send the internet into meltdown, one particular tweet from Jungkook has officially been certified as “Legendary.”
British publication The Guardian recently released an article called “The greatest hits in Twitter’s history.” In the article, the publication looked at “the best-known and notorious tweets in the company’s 16-year history.”
Amongst the list was the first-ever tweet sent by Twitter’s co-founder and former chief executive Jack Dorsey, the iconic Oscars selfie, and even one about chicken nuggets.
Amongst the list of weird, wonderful, and meaningful tweets, it was inevitable that a BTS post would make the list.
In the article, the publication picked a tweet from BTS’s youngest member that was shared over two years ago. It was a cover done by Jungkook of the song ‘Never Not’ by Lauv.
The Guardian mentioned that: "BTS, the South Korean boyband, have nearly 50 million followers, so they feature heavily in the top retweet lists. In this one, main vocalist Jungkook sings ‘Never Not’ by US singer-songwriter Lauv. It had 1.5m retweets".
During the video, Jungkook not only showcased his dazzling visuals, but the emphasis was on his beautiful vocals. With the simple backdrop of his bedroom and slouchy clothes, Jungkook’s talents were truly allowed to shine throughout. At the end of the video, the idol made ARMYs swoon when he seemingly got the words wrong and adorably went to switch off the video.
Even with a simple caption saying “Never Not” with a purple heart, the video, which has been watched over 41.9 million times, is definitely worthy of a place on the list.
Even after two years, netizens haven’t been able to get enough of the video. So, when the tweet was included in the list, ARMYs didn’t need to share their surprise but rather explained why it was the perfect post to be included. Let replay this lovely video of Jungkook below:
Although BTS isn’t as active on Twitter more, it’s crazy to see their influence on global lists!
