The Truth Behind Jimin’s Father Being Forced to Shut Down His Cherished Café, Leaving ARMY Furious

In its latest Instagram post, ZM-illennial—the café directly run by Jimin’s family—surprised many people with an announcement: “As of today, the remaining time that ZM-illennial will be with all of you is now 365 days.”  Although no exact closing date was given, the message suggests that the café will cease operations in one year.

For ARMY, the café opened by Jimin’s father, Park Hyun Soo, in Busan has long been a popular and iconic destination—practically a must-visit spot for anyone traveling to the city. Beyond attracting millions of fans from around the world, the café has also welcomed special guests, including Frode Solberg, the Norwegian Ambαѕѕador to South кσяєα, further highlighting its popularity.

The sudden announcement that a seemingly thriving and busy café would be shutting down, without any explanation, left fans stunned and wondering what had happened. Fortunately, a content creator known as кσяєαn-αмєяι¢αn later shared information she had gathered, shedding light on the circumstances behind Jimin’s father’s decision.

According to the content creator, Jimin’s father had been under immense pressure due to a dispute with his landlady. She claimed that the landlady, who operates the neighboring business, MAGNATE, had started selling coffee and decorating the establishment around a purple theme, a color closely αѕѕociated with ARMY. This could lead people to believe that the two businesses were connected. The content creator said the situation had placed considerable pressure on him.

Another fan also shared what they knew: “No one should give that greedy landlady anything once he closes the cafe. I heard that she was the one who opened the cafe right next to Z-Millenial, making it Magnate, dressing it all in purple & trying to attract the Armys away from his cafe & trying to do a money grab, but obvs the plan isn’t working so she probs forcing him out, making it difficult to continue to do business.”

In fact, disputes over branding and confusion between the neighboring businesses have reportedly been going on for years. The café originally opened in 2019 under the name MAGNATE but was forced to change its name to ZM-ILLENNIAL in 2024. When announcing the name change, Mr. Park explained on Instagram: "This change is due to an unrelated company registering the trademark 'Magnate' and attempting to sell products under that name."

By mid-2026, Jimin’s father had to issue a second clarification, explicitly stating that ZM-illennial Café & Bakery and MAGNATE Clothing Store were two completely separate and independent businesses. Although the establishments are located next to each other, they have no affiliation, partnership, or operational connection whatsoever. Customers were advised to keep this in mind to avoid any confusion or misunderstandings when visiting either location.

Yet, it seems that neither Jimin’s father’s warnings nor fans’ efforts to distinguish between the two brands have been enough to stop those seeking to capitalize on his family’s fame. This time, the landlady has reportedly even demanded that Jimin’s father give up the premises, seemingly determined to force his cherished café business to shut down in the hope that its downfall would help her own café thrive.

As these alleged reasons came to light on social media, fans could not hide their anger over the landlady’s perceived greed, taking to the comments to express their frustration:

- I hope the person who stole the name of Jimin’s father’s café and opened a business right across from them never finds happiness and never gets any customers either

- The landlady is a truly awful person to do soмєтнing like that. Honestly, I hope karma catches up with them

- I wonder if we can do anything to make this news more widespread? because the ARMY who aren't in the loop may go there and end up going to that lady's store

- This breaks my heart so much. A few friends of mine visited it and it was such a warm welcoming cafe and of course everything was delicious. Let’s hope ARMY who visits Busan avoids going to the greedy copycat store and let them go bankrupt. And hope Papa Park relocates the cafe!

- I had the chance to visit Jimin’s father’s café twice, and both times, I didn’t see a single person going in or out of that woman’s café. However, she did have music blasting at full volume, and the entire place was decorated in purple. I hope ARMY never forgets what this woman did

- My heart hurts. It made me so happy to see the café, even if it was only through a livestream, and to witness all the love people showed, even through the smallest gestures, expressing their boundless love for our Jimin

- Those parasites, stealing his cafe name and then trying to take his cafe. Looks like they succeeded for now but karma will come. Evil!

- No wonder Jimin's dad's cafe kept warning fans multiple times to be careful not to mistake the neighbor's shop for theirs since it's completely unrelated. I really hope they can open their next spot with a decent landlord this time!

- So sad I hope jimin's dad is fine.. Hope he don't stress out maybe they can open somewhere neww
