One of the most famous tattoo artists in Korea, Polyc SJ, is also an artist who has made a "7" friendship tattoo of BTS. He shared (after the permission of BTS) the tattoo of members as a way to celebrate this interesting working experience with global superstars.
Not only that, the opportunity to work with BTS makes him have many impressive experiences with the group. Recently in an interview, Polyc shared this along with an item that he made for BTS to be inspired by tattoos.
See the details below:
For ARMYS, Polyc is no longer a strange name because he is the one who has made friendship tattoos for BTS members. Especially, before making a friendship tattoo for the group, polyc is tattooist tattooing all the tattoos on Jungkook's arm.
Earlier this year, the members shared the idea they could own friendship tattoos to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the group's activities. And then, since June this year, BTS members have revealed that each member has a "7" tattoo on different parts of the body as a sign of their long -term friendship.
Since then, five of the 7 members have shared their design and tattoo position with ARMY. In particular, SUGA and V have not yet confirmed the exact position of their tattoo with ARMYS.
Later, in a recent Instagram post, Tattooist Polyc announced that he would not copy the tattoo designs that he made BTS for any other customer. The artist has seriously stated that no one can get the exact design of the BTS friendship tattoo because of the respect for the members and their feelings behind the design.
He also shared about the idea of tattooing friendship when combining the number 7 of 7 members together will be broken by a BTS image. Inspired by these tattoos, Polyc artist also creates pins and only 7 units.
He also shared this image on his personal page and seems to be most likely the pins of shirts dedicated to BTS:
Not only that, in a recent interview program, Polyc also shared his experience when working with the group members. After Jungkook’s tattoos gained attention at the recent World Cup, Arirang News did an exclusive interview with Polyc SJ.
During the interview, Polyc SJ wasn’t afraid to spill his experiences with the members. As expected, the artist had nothing but kind words to say about the members. He mentioned that: "Despite being the absolute top stars, the BTS members were very considerate of me and tried to make me feel comfortable during the entire process."
Considering how comfortable he looked in the picture with the youngest member Jungkook, it isn’t surprising that he had nothing but kind words about the group.
Yet, even with his beautiful designs, Polyc SJ revealed that there is still a stigma towards tattoos, especially among older Koreans and that it still impacts him now.
He told that: "First of all, it used to be a simple of gangsters in the past, even when it’s portrayed in the media: gangsters and the mafia all have tattoos. So senior citizens give me the eye when I walk past them, even to this day."
Aside from BTS’s tattoos, the artist has created some beautiful tattoos with bright colors and designs that truly showcase his talent. He also takes his beautiful art and puts it on a canvas for people to see all the time.
With such talent, it isn’t surprising that he’s trying to fight against the stigma tattoos hold in South Korea. His beautiful pieces have captured the hearts of netizens, and he is a part of BTS history, creating artwork that has united the members even more.
