On September 25, 2025, the “Tattoo Act” was finally pαѕѕed, legalizing the tattoo profession in South кσяєα. This law restored freedom, human rights, and official recognition for tattoo art and tattoo artists after 33 years of restrictions since 1992.
The law is also expected to change the public’s extreme perception of this industry. Tattoo artists and enthusiasts have finally stepped into the spotlight, celebrating this memorable event!
What is even more notable is that immediately after the law was pαѕѕed, Jungkook was mentioned with great respect by both the кσяєαn media and tattoo artists, as the BTS superstar is credited with paving the way and creating a “favorable atmosphere” for the bill to be approved.
Moreover, Andy (a YouTube content creator specializing in tattoos) commented that Jungkook not only helped society view their profession more positively but also changed the perception of tattoo artists themselves — from a “conservative” mindset to genuinely valuing the art.
Considering how honored other artists feel, one can only imagine how much more extraordinary those who work directly with Jungkook or BTS members, like POLYC, must feel. He actually feels even more significant and finds the experience deeply meaningful. That is probably why, right after working with these superstars, he decided to tattoo their names on his arm as a way to preserve the memory.
In an Instagram post, fans discovered two inscriptions on his exposed arm: one read “jm 422” and the other reads “jk 225.” ARMYs speculate that these characters represent Jimin and the date he got tattooed, April 22, while the other line represents Jungkook and the date his tattoo was completed, February 25.
This also aligns with his previous revelation about the first two BTS members to visit his studio. Jungkook introduced Jimin after experiencing a tattoo there. Later, Jimin and POLYC worked together on tattoos on his back, behind his ear, and on his arm.
Meanwhile, these two members also encouraged BTS to complete their friendship tattoos. POLYC stated that Jungkook had already thought about the friendship tattoo while both were still working on his arm tattoos: "Jungkook’s existing tattoo took around 5 months to finish but as we were talking, he kept bringing up friendship tattoos."
Following that, Jimin was the one who pushed the other members to bring this idea to reality. He continued: "They seemed to have talked about getting them for several years, and finally, Jimin said ‘let’s do it’ and they all decided to get tattoos."
Obviously, not many people have the chance to work directly with superstars like Jimin and Jungkook, especially for their permanent tattoos. Therefore, it is understandable why POLYC was so excited and cherished the opportunity to tattoo their names on his arm. It is like a commemorative plaque marking an important milestone in his career.
In addition to this act, POLYC also openly stated that he would never copy BTS’s exclusive designs for any other clients or sell the designs for commercial purposes out of respect for the members and their attachment to these ideas. This further highlights his admiration for the Kpop superstars.
Following these revelations, fans have grown even more fond of BTS’s veteran tattoo artist and praised his dedication, which helped the members realize their tattoo ideas! Correspondingly, POLYC also mentioned that his clientele has been steadily increasing, with a significant portion coming from ARMYs’ support.
