Over the years, ARMYs have witnessed many times when members get sick or collapse because of the intensity of hard work. Fortunately, later on, the members and the company paid more attention to their health and limited unnecessary injuries.

However, there are illnesses that the members cannot avoid and require surgery to treat. One of the members reported to have undergone serious surgeries is RM - who is said to have had heart surgery at the age of 15. But the truth behind that, is revealed by himself.

Many ARMYs were probably quite bewildered when the news that RM had undergone a dangerous surgery because of his heart problem at the age of 15. This incident was even reported by Korean articles and even in an interview, the host of the show asked RM about this.

This comes after it was rumored that RM had heart surgery at the age of 15 and the surgery was so dangerous that the success rate was only 30%. Then there was a Korean fan who searched the naver about Namjoon's surgery and found some related stories.

For example, in an article written about him it was written: "Namjoon, who has an IQ of 148, has achieved a TOEIC score of 900 and is considered a genius. He has had heart problems since childhood, and at the age of 15 there were some incidents that happened so he had to urgently undergo surgery. He only had 30% chance of survival after this surgery, and in the end he lived, even put his name in the top 1% of nation."

Even in an article of a member of DNH - Namjoon's underground group before debut also mentioned this. He once wrote: "Everyone, there's a guy named Kim Namjoon. He's undergoing heart surgery, and his chance of survival is only 30%. Even though he's in surgery but please pray for him. We're in the same group and he's my little brother. Even though he's only 15 years old, he's very passionate about rapping. Such a young man passed away. It will be heartbreaking, won't it. Please pray for him, even if it's only for 20 seconds."

This further makes ARMYs believe in the fact that RM has undergone serious surgery. ARMY also pointed out that RM mentioned his terminal illness in the rap in INTRO : O!RUL8,2? that "My heart stopped when I was nine or ten. Put my hand on my heart and ask what my dream was. Ah, what was it, really?. Put my hand on my heart and ask what my dream was. Ah, what was it, really?."

After all this, ARMY feels so grateful that RM survived and became such a talented artist. Many people were also surprised to know the difficulty that RM had to overcome as a child.

However, the truth later surprised many people when in an interview with The Star, RM revealed this. When asked by a reporter about rumors of having had heart surgery, RM just laughed and said, "In the intro of the 2nd album, I wrote that 'My heart stopped when I was nine or ten' actually it was a metaphorical way to say 'I've lived a meaningless life like my heart stopped beating', but maybe my fans took it literally. (If this is true) there won't be a scar on my chest when I take my shirt off? (laughs)"

This made fans realize that the rumor was not true and put an end to this story. But anyway, it's a blessing that he didn't have to undergo serious heart surgery!
