Talking about the reason that Bang PD chose Jungkook over any other BTS member that year, he really has an important reason and his vision is absolutely right:

But the reason why the person who went to the US to study abroad at that time was Jungkook and not any other member of BTS, perhaps not everyone knows.

Specifically, in an interview to learn about the training of new generation idols and the path that HYBE chose to produce talented K-pop idols, Son Seungdeuk shared that Jungkook was a successful example for the current company's idol training mєthod.

He claimed that: "Because Jungkook set a successful example at the time, all trainees go to the States for training now. It became a training culture for HYBE.".

Therefore, Bang PD spent a large amount of money for Son Seungdeuk on flying with a BTS member to the US to study music for 1 month. Bang PD and Teacher Son had certain discussions and finally, they agreed to let Jungkook come to äṃệŕïċä to experience life even though he was very young.

When it comes to this, Son Seungdeuk shared why he and Bang PD chose Jungkook over the rest of the members. He αѕѕerted that they both saw a lot of potential in Jungkook when he was only 14-15 years old, "but he (at that time) was too shy to sing or dance perfectly".

It also means that at that time, Jungkook's potential was still unfold. That's why Bang PD thought that bringing Jungkook to äṃệŕïċä and being directly exposed to äṃệŕïċän music culture would help unleash his inner potential. And that decision was absolutely correct!
