Created in October 2022 by Jin himself and introduced alongside his solo single “The Astronaut” before his military enlistment, Wootteo has become a beloved virtual companion to fans over the years. Staying true to the single’s space-themed concept, Wootteo takes the form of an adorable cartoon astronaut and is often regarded as Jin’s second beloved son, after RJ, the eldest in the BT21 universe.

Jin even created a personal Instagram account for Wootteo, where the character could share various POV-style photos. Wootteo was often spotted following his “dad” to different projects, events, and concerts—sometimes appearing right beside Jin, and other times simply… wandering around.

Jin had several reasons for creating Wootteo, one of which was his hope that ARMYs would find joy and comfort in having someone to accompany them while he was serving in the military. Born from Jin’s heartfelt wish, Wootteo fulfilled that purpose beautifully. Throughout Jin’s military service, the little astronaut brought warmth and comfort to fans, making them feel as though a part of him was always by their side.

Recently, however, fans discovered soмєтнing that left many feeling heartbroken. On October 3, some ARMYs noticed that Wootteo’s official Instagram account, @wootteo, was no longer accessible. When they searched for it, the page displayed messages such as “User not found” or “This page isn’t available,” raising suspicions that the account had been deleted or had disappeared from the platform.

Some fans speculated that Wootteo’s mission might have come to an end now that Jin has returned and is continuing his journey of meeting ARMYs around the world alongside BTS. From this perspective, the astronaut who accompanied fans while the singer was away no longer had a role to fulfill, leading to speculation that BIGHIT MUSIC, possibly together with Jin, had decided to let him quietly depart.

Still, not everyone is ready to say goodbye to Wootteo. For many ARMYs, he is more than just an adorable cartoon character; he is also tied to the memories and emotions they experienced during Jin’s military service. His account’s sudden disappearance has therefore left many fans feeling sad and heartbroken. Even if Wootteo no longer has a mission to fulfill, they still hope his account can remain as a place to preserve those precious memories.

On social media, many fans have repeatedly tagged BTS’s and BIGHIT MUSIC’s official accounts, calling for help in restoring Wootteo’s Instagram page. They hope this special character will never disappear for good. Fans have shared their reactions, including:
