If some fans have noticed, after getting the friendship tattoo number 7 together with the BTS members, RM seems to have discovered a pαѕѕion for this form of art. He has even officially joined the BTS club of members who have more than one tattoo — most notably Jungkook and Jimin, who have continuously added meaningful little tattoos in recent years.

A prime example was when BTS returned in March this year, when RM was spotted adding new tattoos that carried a strong personal touch, including a natural sign (♮) and a treble clef. The natural sign is commonly understood as a symbol of returning to one's true self, regaining balance, or opening a new chapter after life's changes. Meanwhile, the treble clef has long been αѕѕociated with music, rhythm, and harmony, clearly reflecting the artistic identity of BTS's leader.

By July, fans discovered another tree-like tattoo, which they dubbed the Namu tattoo because RM is well known for his love of nature, slow-paced lifestyle, and especially his pαѕѕion for growing and caring for bonsai trees. RM himself also frequently uses tree symbols or the term Namu in his social media posts.

But he did not stop there. RM recently added another symbol to his collection of mini tattoos, and this time, ARMYs were once again touched by its meaning!

At today’s concert, which kicked off BTS’s four-night run in Los Angeles, RM α¢¢ι∂єитally revealed his fifth tattoo on his upper arm while wearing a tank top. Located on the inner side of his upper arm, the words “a human” were clearly visible. More notably, Jimin later “helped” ARMYs get a better look at the tattoo during the ending ment. When RM noticed Jimin’s curiosity about the words in the tattoo, he let out a gentle laugh, making an already adorable moment even more special.

As images of the tattoo began circulating, many ARMYs immediately connected it to a message RM has repeatedly emphasized throughout his journey of growth: no matter how famous he becomes, he is still just a human.

This perspective has been consistently reflected in RM’s music and personal reflections. In solo projects such as Indigo and Right Place, Wrong Person, he has repeatedly expressed his desire to return to his true self and the real person behind the idol image. He often describes himself simply as “an insignificant 29-year-old кσяєαn man,” despite standing in the position of leader of the biggest group in the world. During livestreams, RM has also often reminded fans that the BTS members are just ordinary human beings, with their own sadness, pressure, and moments when they are not okay.

However, this does not represent weakness or discouragement. On the contrary, for RM, the tattoo seems to carry a positive reminder: Don’t turn yourself into someone who has to be perfect all the time. He accepts himself as an ordinary, imperfect person, yet he has never stopped striving, creating, and appreciating life. “A human” serves as a reminder for him to stay grounded and honest, without losing the essence of who he is.

This message also reminded some fans of how Jungkook once expressed a similar perspective when he became involved in debates surrounding the “idol standards” imposed by a section of extreme fans, such as not drinking alcohol, smoking, or dating. At the time, Jungkook expressed his desire to live honestly with his emotions and pursue the things he loved instead of restricting himself within the mold of a “perfect idol.”

However, those remarks drew heavy criticism, and he eventually apologized during another livestream: “I’m sorry guys, I don’t know. I guess I was frustrated, I don’t know.” Even so, he emphasized one thing very clearly: “I’m human, too.”

RM’s “a human” and Jungkook’s “I’m human too” can be understood as two different ways of expressing the same realization. Jungkook said it when his emotions were running high, while RM turned it into a life principle. One was an immediate confession, while the other is a long-term reminder, but both point to the same thing: don’t forget that you’re human.
