The Korean Broadcaster Uses A BTS's Old Video To Praise The Group — But It Leaves ARMYs Feeling “Shy“

It is undeniable that BTS has been and continues to be one of the leading music groups in the world, known as the “pop icons of the 21st century.” BTS constantly earns public admiration for their achievements and prestigious awards, their influence and popularity that go far beyond the boundaries of music, as well as their wealth and stunning appearances with expensive outfits and accessories.

However, what makes fans stay loyal over the long run and love them more and more lies in the fact that the group has always maintained sincerity in their personalities, despite the glamorous spotlight of fame. They don’t try to always act like the “ideal idols,” but instead, often show their everyday, natural, and even—at times—adorably silly sides behind the scenes.

On stage, BTS always demonstrates the professional aspects of being an idol, but off stage, they never hide their “very human” sides – playful young men in their twenties. Fans often find comfort and a sense of closeness in their over-the-top jokes and hilariously nonsensical conversations that no one can quite understand.

Even the кσяєαn broadcasting station KBS once reported on this appealing side of BTS, even affirming it with the headline “the secret to become famous” for the group. In the program, reporter covered and discussed how BTS is loved worldwide not only because of their talent but also due to their sincerity and “everyday personalities,” especially as seen through videos uploaded on the Bangtan TV YouTube channel.

To illustrate this point, the show chose to broadcast an υиєχρє¢тє∂ clip: scenes of the members in their daily lives. Sometimes they appeared with messy hair as if they had just woken up, sometimes they threw pillows at each other while playing, danced carelessly despite looking silly, acted goofy...

But the most notable was the scene where V used a slipper to нιт... Jungkook’s foot while the younger members were playing hide and seek. This scene is from the video “VMinKook’s Hide and Seek Game” under the BANGTAN BOMB series, previously uploaded on their YouTube channel.

In the clip, while Jungkook was lying on the floor resting, V suddenly appeared and teased him by нιтting the youngest member’s foot repeatedly with a slipper, then laughed heartily. This action, both silly and adorable, made the atmosphere in the room lively, more like a dormitory of teenagers than K-pop idols who have already debuted.

Right after the news segment aired, ARMYs around the world had reactions that were both “embarrαѕѕed” and humorous. Many admitted they were “cringing on their behalf” when such a bizarre moment was chosen as a representative example on national television. However, most also agreed that it’s precisely these kinds of moments that have made ARMYs more closely connected to BTS and not feel a huge distance between fans and idols.

Some standout fan comments included:

- кσяєαn news really showed THAT clip??? I’m embarrαѕѕed but also laughing so hard

- This is peak BTS chaos energy and I love it.

- Only BTS would get praised for being real and have a slipper fιgнт shown on national TV lol.

- This TV channel knows exactly what ARMY loves.

- the way they were just teenagers that happened to be bts

- I know they cringe when they see this stuff on the news, cause this is so old. Yoongi and Jin somewhere cracking up and saying this is why we do nothing on camera but sit and eat.

- i meannn there are a lottt more suspicious digital footprint they had and im so glad this was chosen ...

- Now I'm really falling for the demon propaganda. They're tryna make us believe bts is human . OMG!!

- Istg looking at bts’ digital footprint you can tell they didn’t expect to be popular enough to reach global stardom cuz they have so much questionable content

- I can’t believe they showed the slipper scene on national TV. BTS really is soмєтнing else!

- This is exactly why we love them – so real, so chaotic, so BTS.

- Only BTS can be shown on TV from Grammy stage moment to slipper fιgнтs. It's so iconic

- Just a little bit shy but yes, it's actually our idol, Kpop super star, global sensation, BTS

The fact that national media chose such a “mischievous” moment to praise BTS also partly reflects a shift in the perception of K-pop idols – that what truly keeps the public engaged is honesty, simplicity, and joy, not just the glamorous image on stage.
