SUGA has long been known for his “unwritten rule” at airports: always moving extremely quickly from public areas to check-in counters or from the terminal to parking areas. His signature “in fast, out fast” style has become a defining trait, marked by decisive strides, a pace that often leads the group, and a focused gaze fixed solely on moving forward, rarely stopping to interact with the media or fans.

This habit is not only familiar to fans but also well-known among reporters and netizens. Many veteran journalists have even shared that capturing a clear photo of him feels like a real hunt, requiring meticulous preparation just to catch fleeting moments.

This was particularly evident during BTS’ most recent appearance on September 20 (KST), when the group returned to South кσяєα right after performing at the iHeartRadio Festival. While the other five members moved at a more relaxed pace and interacted with some reporters, SUGA walked ahead on his own, keeping a considerable distance from them and heading straight to his private vehicle without looking back. With his headphones on, he appeared almost completely detached from the bustle around him.

Speaking about the reason behind this habit, SUGA said that he does not want to inconvenience others in crowded public places such as airports. "Well, it’s because the airport is a place where I’m not the only one who uses it and I’ve seen people get hurt and bump into each other etc so I guess I just think I should get out of there quickly so I don’t inconvenience others. I’ve seen so many people get hurt and it’s a public place so I don’t want to inconvenience anyone. I’ve seen people bump into each other and bump into doors and I’m very grateful. There was, however, one rare occasion when SUGA broke this particular rule of his — when BTS departed for the U.S. for their ARIRANG promotional schedule in March this year. That day, SUGA was seen walking much more slowly than usual and staying close to the other members. And the reason for this unusual chang: RM was dealing with a leg injury at the time and had to use crutches to get around!

Although RM did not require direct αѕѕistance, SUGA deliberately slowed his pace and stayed nearby, ready to help whenever necessary. The moment became even more meaningful when fans noticed Jin walking right behind them and closely keeping an eye on the situation. These small gestures clearly reflected the deep bond and sense of teamwork BTS have built together over the years.

The moment also brought renewed attention to a previous remark from SUGA, in which he described the relationship between the members after nearly two decades together: “They’re the people I’ve been with and seen the most in the 30 years of my life. We’ve really become a family. There’s no other word to describe our relationship. We’re family.”
