Every year since 1990, TC Candler and The Independent Critics publish a list of the world famous “100 Most Beautiful Faces” and “100 Most Handsome Faces”, which includes the most famous celebrities worldwide. This is a poll that is increasingly loved by Kpop fans because in recent years, Kpop artists have all ranked high on this list.

Yesterday, a number of major news sites reported that RM took 1st place in the rankings. Despite the authenticity of the news, many newspapers and netizens began to spread and cause a lot of controversy about RM's ranking.

Recently, TC Candler - the representative of the poll spoke about this issue:

Over the years, “100 Most Beautiful Faces” and “100 Most Handsome Faces” have become the center of attention. Especially after K-pop artists like V, Jungkook, Jennie, Jisoo, etc. ranked high in the charts, more and more people are interested in this contest.

According to the competition's criteria, The Independent Critics revealed: "Unlike most other annual beauty rankings, The List is not popularity contest and is most definitely not country specific. It is not about the sexiest body or the most famous celebrity. Rather, the list attempts to inform & broaden public opinion instead of reflecting it.  You will find superstars and new stars, global sensations and relative unknowns". Therefore, all BTS members were all nominated in this year's ranking.

The nominees for 2022 were also revealed six months ago. At the moment, nominations are still ongoing and the list is still being added. Obviously the contest isn't over yet.

Recently, however, information has been circulating online that RM has reportedly won, especially against British actor Henry Cavill. After that, some news sites turned it into hot news with words like RM having "dethroned" Henry Cavill for the title of “World’s Most Handsome Face”.

Later, when fake news spread widely, RM became the target of cyberbullying as many netizens expressed that the result was not deserved. Even many netizens have made offensive, racist, xenophobic, homophobic and misleading comments towards RM.

It got out of control and damaged RM's honor. Later, TC Candler released a statement regarding the matter. It is confirmed that the official crown is yet to be revealed and it will not be until December 2022 for the official results.

ARMYs were outraged that a fake news article had led to such great hatred towards RM. He doesn't deserve to be smeared and subjected to ridicule for such a bogus news. ARMYs also requested an apology from the newspapers and news sites that covered this news for affecting him.

Hopefully TC Candler's clarification will bring the story to an end and those who said toxic things about RM should feel ashamed for doing so to him!
