SUGA’s Reaction to Hearing a Request to Perform a Non-BTS Song Goes Viral

BTS is currently holding their “BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’ IN LOS ANGELES” concerts at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on September 1-2 and 5-6 (local time). This marks BTS’s return to SoFi Stadium after approximately four years and nine months, following their “BTS PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE - LA” concerts in December 2021. All four shows sold out very quickly, with each night expected to draw around 70,000 fans.

Notably, local residents and city authorities have welcomed the group with a number of special preparations. At the beginning of the month, the City of Los Angeles and the Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board announced that September 1 through 8 (local time) would be officially designated as “BTS Week.” On September 1, Los Angeles City Hall was lit up in red, the signature color αѕѕociated with BTS’s fifth studio album, ARIRANG.

Meanwhile, fans have continued to surprise the group with a series of special events, from the golden light birthday celebration for Jungkook on the first concert night, which coincided with his 29th birthday, to the moment ARMYs collectively raised South кσяєαn flags during the performance of “Body to Body” on the third concert night.

But the surprises did not end there! On the third night of the concert series, ARMYs made an “υиєχρє¢тє∂ and bold performance request” that caught SUGA completely off guard!

As BTS was preparing to move into the surprise songs segment — one of the most iconic and highly anticipated parts of the concerts on this tour — some fans suddenly began chanting “That That,” the нιт song SUGA collaborated on with PSY, as a request for the group to perform it. Perhaps caught off guard by ARMYs asking for a song that is not part of BTS’s repertoire, SUGA immediately burst out laughing before responding in disbelief: “That That”? Whaaaaaat? That is not BTS."

His blunt but very realistic response made the au∂ιєnce at the venue laugh and cheer along. After quickly “shutting down” ARMYs’ request, SUGA immediately returned to the main program and asked the DJ to play the surprise songs for the day. In the end, the DJ chose “Home” and “Pied Piper” for the Los Angeles fans.

The moment SUGA reacted to the “That That” request was soon widely shared across social media. Many fans laughed at what seemed like a slightly “avoidant” reaction, joking that the idol might have been a little shy about having to perform the song’s energetic choreography once again. The last time he performed “That That” live on stage was with PSY at SUMMER SWAG 2022.

Meanwhile, ARMYs immediately thought of another member — someone who might have been far more enthusiastic than SUGA himself if the DJ had actually played “That That”: Jungkook.

BTS’s youngest member is well known for his love of the song. Jungkook once went viral after using his break time in the recording studio to dance along to part of “That That’s” energetic choreography. During several livestreams with fans, he has also happily sung and danced along to the song multiple times, unable to hide his excitement.

Most notably, when he appeared on SUGA’s show “Suchwita,” Jungkook once again showed just how obsessed he is with “That That” by performing the song right in front of his hyung. Jungkook’s enthusiasm at the time even left SUGA impressed and thoroughly entertained.

This topic is now becoming a fun discussion among ARMYs across social media:

- Someone needs to tell him that JK would the one enjoying the most for THAT THAT and Tannies would join too

- Dj should start spinning solo songs too, it would be fun seeing all members joining in

- It is BTS... cause bro is BTS. And I'm sure that was Jungkook's request too

- Jungkook flashed in front of his eyes. LMAOOOFSKDKDKD YOONGI! But I know BTS who would be very happy to perform that song with u

- Oh so they will only play BTS songs not even solos? BTS OR NOTHING LET'S FVCKING GOOOOOO but I need to see That That again Yoongi

- He didn’t even hesitate for a second. The way he immediately reminded everyone that it’s not a BTS song was so blunt but so Yoongi

- His reaction was honestly priceless. Meanwhile, I can totally see Jungkook jumping up and dancing the entire choreography without even being asked. The contrast between these two is just too funny

- Yoongi looked genuinely caught off guard by that request. But now I’m thinking about Jungkook and how enthusiastically he has danced to “That That” so many times

- Jungkook’s love for that song is so well documented that he would probably have been the happiest person in the stadium if the DJ had actually played it. We need a SUGA-Jungkook “That That” moment someday!
