During BTS’s solo activities, Suchwita has become one of the most impressive shows not only for ARMYs but also for K-pop fans in general. It is also the first and, so far, only official talk show hosted by a BTS member, carrying his own brand and being produced on a regular basis.
Each episode leaves a strong impression with stories about career, life, and personal perspectives, shared over drinks between SUGA and his guests in a relaxed and intimate atmosphere.
Suchwita has released more than 20 episodes, featuring a wide variety of guests. In addition to fellow BTS members, the program has welcomed many well-known figures from different fields — from idols to actors and producers — spanning generations from seniors and juniors to SUGA’s peers.
The diversity of guests has made Suchwita appealing not only to BTS fans but also to the general public. However, few expected that the show’s original purpose was nothing like what it has become today. The host himself, SUGA, surprised fans when he revealed this.
He explained that the plan for the talk show had completely shifted from its original intention of being an internal program for BTS members to promote their solo albums. Once it aired, Suchwita expanded into multiple episodes and became a destination for celebrities of all kinds, far beyond just the group itself.
SUGA shared: "At first, the members… It was made to give new media to the members when they made their comeback. But now the guests are getting diverse."
Clearly, it has veered completely from its initial purpose. With just one BTS member at the helm, SUGA has built a diverse collection of celebrities and idols. But this shift has been a positive one — fans love it, and SUGA himself has had the chance to sit down with many people he admires in the industry but rarely gets to meet.
Not only that, SUGA also noted: “I started it very lighting but I’m more sincere about it than I thought,” revealing that filming turned out to be more intense than he originally expected.
This is understandable, since BTS members are known for their perfectionism in producing both music and fan content. After the first few episodes received enthusiastic responses, SUGA likely felt the responsibility to make the following ones even more engaging to meet fans’ expectations.
He had to work hard to find suitable guests and prepare richer conversation topics for each episode, while still preserving the intimacy and signature style of Suchwita. As a result, there hasn’t been a single episode that fans considered boring!
For example, ARMYs gained deeper insight into the musical journey, early struggles, and emotions of transitioning from BTS member to solo artist through SUGA’s conversation with RM. Starting off with a fellow BTS member gave fans a sense of closeness.
Meanwhile, when Taeyang returned with VIBE, his appearance on Suchwita was a huge surprise for fans, bringing a wave of nostalgia about the earlier days of K-pop. Fans could see themselves in SUGA, who was also once a loyal fan of his senior and Big Bang.
In the episode with Seventeen’s Hoshi, the roles were reversed — SUGA became Hoshi’s role model. Fans were delighted by Hoshi’s initial shyness as a junior and the way SUGA broke down the barriers with warmth and humor.
There were also episodes featuring well-known figures outside the idol world, such as actor Kim Nam Gil, actresses Uhm Jung Hwa and Lee Na Young, soccer player Lee Kang In, and producer Jang Yi Jeong. Each brought fresh, υиєχρє¢тє∂ conversations that fans didn’t see coming.
