March 9 marks Min Yoongi’s 33rd birthday, and this year the atmosphere seemed more festive than ever as he and the rest of the group have now completed their military service. The members and staff also prepared a memorable surprise for SUGA. A surprise birthday celebration took place right at HYBE headquarters, where staff brought out a cake while turning on their phone flashlights and singing “Happy Birthday” together.
He also received more birthday cakes than usual and later chose two of the cakes gifted by friends, staff, and family members to bring along to his live broadcast with fans. One cake was wнιтe and decorated in a daisy theme with a striking yellow center, while the other was a black cat-shaped cake featuring the words “Tang & SUGA” — a reference to the three-year-old pet cat the rapper is raising.

After finishing the live broadcast, SUGA continued to share several photos on his personal Instagram account. In the original post, among the photos were close-up shots of the black cat cake, including the cake box and a card placed inside. However, not long afterward, fans noticed that these photos had been deleted and replaced with different ones.
Although the main subject of the post — the black cat cake — remained the same, several noticeable changes could be seen. The card that had previously appeared inside the cake box in the original photo was no longer visible in the updated version. In addition, some stickers and surrounding details on the box were also мιѕѕιиg from the new photos.

This change quickly sparked lively discussion among ARMY. Some fans speculated that SUGA may have removed the original photos because they unintentionally revealed the name of a cake brand. For celebrities, showing a brand in a personal post can sometimes be sensitive, as it may be misunderstood as hidden advertising. In the entertainment industry, most artists only publicly mention brands when they are serving as models, ambαѕѕadors, or official representatives.
Meanwhile, some fans also noticed the card that had appeared inside the cake box. In the original image, part of the message could be seen, featuring rather sweet lines such as: “Hi, my love!” and “I prepared soмєтнing for you. As always, let’s have a happy ending today.”
Fans believe that although the message was sweet, it could still be misunderstood or twisted into negative interpretations, especially in a situation where some malicious individuals may be trying to disrupt BTS’s comeback. Unwanted speculation could easily arise in a negative direction — and as everyone knows, public opinion can be quite frightening. That may also be another reason why SUGA chose to edit the post.
On the other hand, some fans pointed out that the card with the noticeable phrase “my love” seen in SUGA’s birthday cake photo was actually not a message written specifically for him. According to them, it is a signature card that is commonly included with birthday cakes from the bakery brand Tido Tido. In other words, it is pre-printed content from the shop rather than a personal letter.

Nevertheless, SUGA has already edited the photos in his post, and as long as it helps him feel comfortable and safe, that’s what matters most!
Meanwhile, SUGA and BTS are currently entering an intense preparation period for the group’s highly anticipated comeback. The album ARIRANG is scheduled to be officially released on the 20th, followed by a special one-hour performance at Gwanghwamun Square on the 21st.
Speaking during the live broadcast, SUGA said, “There's only 11 days until the album comes out, less than two weeks. Time really flies.” He also admitted that his current schedule has been quite overwhelming: “I'm preparing for the comeback show right now, and at the same time, I have to prepare for the concert too. I'm so overwhelmed. It's not easy…”
Even so, he encouraged fans to look forward to what’s coming next: “I think you can have high expectations for the comeback show and the concert too.” With these words, ARMY have become even more excited as they await what many are calling a historic comeback — or the “return of kings” — for BTS.
