Following the BTS members who went through basic military training before officially enlisting, SUGA also started this process today. Fans were surprised by this news because SUGA had previously performed alternative form of military service.
According to what K-media shared, enlisting at the Training Center is part of his "special" military service. Besides reporting news, кσяєαn media also shared some of the situation surrounding SUGA's enlistment area today.
Below is the news about SUGA's presence at the Nonsan Training Center shared a few minutes ago:
On this day, all fans are aware that all 7 BTS members are serving in the military. The group began their military service in December 2022 with eldest brother Jin being the first to enlist. From then until now, the remaining 6 members of the group took turns enlisting and finally 4 members RM, V, Jimin and Jungkook enlisted in December last year.
BTS's enlistment process took place quickly and smoothly because they had prepared content for fans. By June of this year, with just over 70 days left, Jin will be the first member of BTS to be discharged from the military - he will restart activities as a member of the group. Fans are currently very excited for the members' return.
However, surprising news for fans was reported this afternoon (local time). On this day, a media agency reported that SUGA entered a military training center in Nonsan to perform "the regular combat duty". It is known that SUGA plans to undergo basic military training for three weeks at this military unit. After this period, he will return to continue performing his replacement duty.
According to photos recorded by local reporters, SUGA was escorted in a van straight inside the center. On this day, the weather in the locality was bad including heavy rain and cold winds, making travel difficult. However, like all previous cases of BTS members enlisting, SUGA enlisted in silence and fans watching from afar sent their wishes to him.
After K-media reported on this, Big Hit Music's representative also responded to SUGA's case. They said: "Today, BTS SUGA joined the Nonsan Training Center according to the military system he registered before."
Meanwhile, SUGA is determined to become a social service agent and applied to terminate his enlistment postponement last year. The specific reasons behind Suga's αѕѕignment to a non-combat role have not been disclosed. The outlet suggests that he may have been αѕѕigned to a less physical role due to a surgery he underwent in 2020 to repair a torn labrum. He began his military service last September, right after completing his world tour. SUGA is the third member of the group to complete military service, after Jin and j-hope.
Unlike most recruits who begin their mandatory service with basic training first, SUGA's enlistment will begin with public service. After 6 months of working as a community service worker, SUGA underwent basic training at a military barracks. At the end of basic military training, he returned to his original unit to complete his service until his discharge.
Current enlistment regulations allow anyone who is αѕѕigned to public service to choose this option. Some enlisters choose this option due to the fact that it αѕѕigns enlisters to a random position, rather than allowing them to choose a position (for example, one that is close to one's home). Those who wish to choose their αѕѕigned positions/locations may have to wait longer to begin their duties, due to the limited availability of public service work positions compared to the number of enlisters.
