SUGA Expresses His Opinion When BTS Has A Member Having Intention To Leave The Group

In recent years, many Kpop groups that debuted before BTS and even debuted after BTS no longer exist with all the members like the original lineup. Yet, after more than a decade, BTS continues to commit to working together, even after they were discharged from the m̷i̷l̷i̷t̷a̷r̷y̷. That surprised many people because of the strong bond between them.

But BTS's 10-year friendship is not easy to come by. To be able to go a long way together and have a friendship above all else, BTS also has its own secrets to maintaining solidarity among members. On one occasion, SUGA also shared his thoughts on how BTS handles when someone in the group quits or has thoughts about not continuing to work together.

After hearing about BTS's solution, you can't help but admire their friendship and believe even more that the group can go many more years:

Well, it must be said that BTS's 10-year milestone is an impressive number because not many Kpop groups can do this with an intact lineup since debut. After many years of activities, there will be idols who have their own orientations and feel confident enough to be able to work solo, which is also the time when their group activities are not a top priority.

But for BTS, even in their 10th year of solo activities when they all have a solid foothold in the Kpop world, they still aim for a common goal of maintaining BTS's reputation and waiting for the right time. reunion point. Even when the members were enlisting, they did not hesitate and made the decision to re-sign with HYBE ahead of time to commit to returning to BTS with all 7 members in the future. It shows that BTS is completely one, right from the start.

When BTS members do that, people wonder what makes the members always stick under the same name? Did they ever intend to leave? Why doesn't any member want to leave the group to build their own career?

Responding to those questions, SUGA revealed that if a member really wants to leave BTS, the remaining members will not give up that member easily. Members always choose to sit down to discuss all issues together and timely communication is the way to eliminate all disagreements.

SUGA said: “We’ve become closer than family, in a way. We can put everything else aside, and talk freely about how we can move forward and improve.”

Meanwhile, if a member wants to go in a different direction than the group's common vision, other members will try to convince them and all other members must participate in solving issues like a group, basing on mutual respect. SUGA continued: “We also respect each other. So if someone said that they can’t do this anymore because of certain reasons, of course we’d tried to persuade that person, think it over together, and overcome difficulties…”

Finally, if all discussions end and this member still wants to leave, the others will respect his decision. SUGA added, "…but if that’s still not enough, we can say, ‘We understand. It’s your life, so we respect that". But in reality, there has never been a time when a BTS member really wanted to leave the group after discussing together and above all, they always put the group's interests first.

Not only that, in a conversation with SEVENTEEN Woozi, SUGA also pointed out the secret to BTS always looking in the same direction even though they sometimes have different thoughts as fans. He emphasized that as long as artists gather together, their fans will not leave even if they have to wait many years.

He shared: "It's our 10th anniversary this year [BTS's 10th anniversary is June 13, 2023]. It'll be our 10th anniversary this June. When I first debuted I heard from other artists that idols last seven years [The "seven-year-¢υяѕє" for idols] because the contract is for seven years. After that, you end up doing individual things [Must go individual ways] because some want to go solo and some want to act. But that's only possible because of the team.

The team can never break up and no individual is better than the team. So, that's what I think and we always talk about it too [BTS thinks the same way]. And of course, there will come a time when you have to be physically apart from CARAT [A short time away from the fans]. But I believe that during that time, during those two years when we can't all be together, they will still be there, waiting.

In other words, that also means that the artist must still be there too. We all have to be there...We all have to be there, for the fans to be there."

And of course, that's absolutely true!

Remember, j-hope once shared that BTS had to go through many difficulties, including considering disbanding in 2018. It was a year that started with pressure and doubt, but as j-hope said, said, it ended up as "one of our best years". Even though sometimes the members feel exhausted, it's clear that just by thinking of the fans and guiding each other through that time, they will achieve beautiful results. Looking back, all the difficulties are just like a few grains of dust.

With such a will and solution, it has helped BTS go through 10 years with all 7 members. And it is certain that BTS 7 will also exist for many years in the future, even forever!
