SUGA Confesses Whether BTS Will Be Able To Return To Their Top Era After Discharging

Perhaps during the more than 10 years BTS has been active, this period is the most difficult time in terms of the connection between them and their fans when interrupted for many reasons. But looking at reality, ARMY and BTS seem to be gradually adapting to this period while looking forward to the group's reunion in the coming years.

But there is a question that I'm sure many people are asking: will BTS be able to return to their peak when they reunite? Faced with this issue, SUGA did not hesitate to give his answer and explain it to fans.

Finally, thanks to SUGA's answer, we can recognize a concept of "eternal success" and cannot help but admire his and the members' way of thinking:

June 15, 2022 was probably a very surprising day for ARMY and K-pop fans when BTS announced a temporary halt in activities as a group to focus on the members' solo careers. Because BTS has been active for 10 years as a group and has achieved many unprecedented achievements, this announcement makes many people extremely confused and worried that it will be difficult for BTS to return.

Not only that, many people including many ARMYs said that it was a difficult period for the group and fans. It is even possible that this is the period when BTS's name is ℓσѕт in a world where there are so many new generation Kpop groups being produced every day.

However, over the past half year since this announcement, BTS has still shown their collective strength in each of their solo activities. Even when the members promote solo activities, their achievements also contribute to spreading BTS's influence in the music market. BTS is still a hot name in the news even though they are in the solo stage.

But of course, it was not an easy decision and BTS's future is still a big question mark. Even Seventeen Hoshi understands this and he has similar concerns for his group's future. So, in an episode of Suchwita, the two sat down and gave their thoughts on whether BTS or even Seventeen will be able to return to their golden age after being discharged from the m̷i̷l̷i̷t̷a̷r̷y̷?

SUGA started to point out what was the crux of this issue: "I met someone while ago and talked to them about exact same things. He said to me: “When you get back together why do you think it will be different?". I think being a singer is about selling memories (Singers are people who sell memories). Of course we perform music too. The only way we can travel back into our memories for a brief moment like a time machine is through music. So keep on doing it for a long, long time. Of course, we may not be as hot. We can't draw a lot of attention every single time. But when we do come back people will remember those memories and come back to us.

Of course we won't be able to do things exactly like before. So I hope you don't feel too anxious about those concerns. Because I was someone that was so anxious about that before. Loving someone unconditionally is one of the hardest things to do. And so for the people who love us we have to do really well and we need to come back as an entire team as soon as we can. In order to you know, stan someone it has to be fun. We have a responsibility to make sure they have lots of fun and enjoy. However we can...I think that's our mission now...It's not about becoming more successful or about better results. Now, the fans try so hard to make that happen. We should feel grateful for that and make a lot of memories with them."

Next, SUGA also sincerely shared that the BTS members were worried that once they were discharged from the army, they would not be able to return to group activities with the same success as in chapter 1. But now, after experiencing and receiving advice from his predecessors, he and the members themselves have a lighter and more positive view of BTS's period of absence and reunion in anticipation of ARMY.

Finally, SUGA added that it is important for members to think of the group's advantages first. He said, "You should talk (about it with the members) even more now. We talked about it a lot as well that we're the best when we're together. The fans love us because we're a team. Whatever I do has to help the team. The team and my members always come first. I'm sure everyone cares about the team. It's the same for us [BTS]. And in the end, things will turn out the way you want them to".

Completing m̷i̷l̷i̷t̷a̷r̷y̷ service and taking a break is inevitable for boy groups and by its nature it is only a temporary period. But the things that last forever are memories and as SUGA said, the most precious knowledge for BTS and Seventeen or any other group that connects with fans through memories. Therefore, a group's golden age will always last forever if they maintain their memories with their fans!
