Storms and Hail in Chile Impact BTS Concert, Leaving Fans Worried

BTS is continuing their journey across South αмєяι¢α as part of their ARIRANG World Tour. After stops in Colombia and Peru, Chile is the group’s next destination, with their first concert scheduled to take place at the National Stadium (Estadio Nacional) in Santiago on October 14. All three shows have sold out, with more than 48,000 fans expected to attend each night.

Excitement across the South αмєяι¢αn country is growing by the hour as ARMY eagerly awaits the global superstars’ return after nine years. Various events organized by local authorities and fans have been taking place to welcome the group. Preparations for the opening concert, including stage installation, have also been completed, further building anticipation for BTS’s performances.

However, just as everything seemed ready and fans were counting down to the big moment, an υиєχρє¢тє∂ situation emerged. Extreme weather in Santiago has left many ARMY on edge, especially with only a little over a dozen hours remaining before the first show.

According to reports on October 13 local time, Santiago experienced heavy rain, thunderstorms accompanied by strong gusts of wind, and even hail. Temperatures dropped significantly, while several roads across the city and around Estadio Nacional were severely flooded, disrupting traffic. The unfavorable weather conditions so close to the concert have quickly become a major concern for Chilean ARMY.

One of fans’ biggest concerns is the sound system, stage, and equipment already installed at the venue. Strong winds and heavy rain have raised questions about the safety of outdoor structures and whether the show can proceed as planned if conditions continue to deteriorate. More worryingly, even if the weather remains relatively stable in the morning and around midday, rain could return in the late afternoon or evening — right around the time the concert is scheduled to take place.

Throughout BTS’s performance history, the group has rarely postponed concerts solely because of rain. In fact, BTS performed in heavy rain in Goyang this April. However, such conditions still pose considerable risks, including slippery surfaces that could lead to α¢¢ι∂єитs during choreography. The weather can also make performing more challenging and physically demanding for BTS and their crew. Fortunately, the Goyang concerts went smoothly, and no one was injured or experienced health issues following the shows.

Extreme weather involving heavy rain, thunderstorms and lightning, strong wind gusts, and hail is a different matter altogether. In such circumstances, decisions regarding the concert may have to change to ensure the safety of both the artists and their fans.

The weather has left local fans deeply concerned, with many expressing their worries: "I'm so worried that the side screens could be blown away", "El Niño in Latin αмєяι¢α is causing this. Hope the weather be better", "My God, may Santiago be safe, peaceful, and calm later, please", "D*mn, that sucks. Hopefully the weather clears up soon", "I'm scared of girls! What нσяяιвℓє weather, it can't be...", "When I went to Harry Styles' concert, it rained like crazy and we got soaked to the bone. Pls I don't want it again", "Is everything okay in Santiago? Why does it look like the end of the world there. Stay safe everyone!!!",...
