Just as the body reacts when encountering bacteria, the brain uses sarcasm as a way to “defend itself” against the ignorance around it. RM sees sarcasm as a мєтнod of relieving stress, staying calm, and maintaining emotional distance from people who lack understanding. And nothing could fit this quote more perfectly.
Floods of comments from fans erupted, with many going wild over RM’s “savage” sharpness while he still maintained his signature elegance. They wrote:

Meanwhile, earlier in November, RM had to face a wave of severe body-shaming on social media. It began when an Indonesian X (formerly Twitter) user named @magruderjazz commented “indy barens” under a photo of RM attending the APEC CEO Summit 2025.
This user supported the original post’s claim — accusing ARMY of “refusing to admit” that RM is “ugly.” These individuals compared him to a middle-aged Indonesian female MC with the intention of mocking and deliberately insulting his appearance. The post amαѕѕed nearly 10 million interactions, sparking a vicious wave of body-shaming against RM. Others joined in by spreading distorted, unflattering edited photos, adding hateful and degrading insults.
At that time, recognizing how deeply offensive and harmful this trend was toward RM, ARMYs immediately launched a global defense campaign called Purple Ribbon for RM, posting loving messages, beautiful photos, and trending hashtags to show their protection and support for BTS’s leader.
Public culture always creates a space for discussion, praise, or critique of celebrities, but the line between “commenting” and “insulting” is crossed far too easily. Similarly, becoming a public figure does not mean they must tolerate all forms of negativity directed at them. Celebrities, like anyone else, have the right to be respected and protected from baseless attacks.
