RM Reveals Why BTS Members Burst Into Tears At Jimin's House On The Day Of Jin's Discharge

BTS has just wrapped up the third night of their Las Vegas concerts as part of their world tour, together with 60,000 fans at Allegiant Stadium. At the moment, the group only has one show left before taking a roughly two-week break, returning to South кσяєα, and preparing for their 13th anniversary concert in Busan next month.

On this day, RM appeared on a short livestream to casually chat with ARMY, just like the members have often been doing recently after concerts. He also explained the reason behind going live, saying: “The reason for coming live today is coz I think I won't be able to come live for quite a bit so I decided to turn it on today.”

During the livestream, RM also recalled how he had not really gotten the chance to talk much about the Billboard #1 album ARIRANG even though it had already been released for several months. A wave of emotions came back to the BTS leader’s mind as he reflected on the process behind its creation. One of those memories included an unforgettable moment with the BTS members on the day Jin was discharged from the military.

According to RM, around the time Jin was discharged — while the remaining members still had nearly a year left before completing their military service — the group’s mental state was not very stable. “Right around the time Jin-hyung was discharged from the military… everyone’s mental state wasn't very good. So, when Jin-hyung got discharged, and around the time I played the saxophone... after his discharge, we all gathered together,” he began recalling.

He then continued: “I can’t quite remember if it was at Jimin’s house or my house... wait, I think it was Jimin’s house. We all gathered at Jimin’s place, and ah... At that time, Jungkook was also going through a really tough period. Well, we were all having a hard time since we were all still active-duty sol∂ιєrs (private first clαѕѕ). Jungkook was crying his eyes out, telling me to do my best to lead and hold the team together. We all cried. We talked about things like that, and we had a lot of deep conversations among ourselves.”

It was also after that emotional conversation that the idea for the ARIRANG album first began to take shape. RM further shared: “So we said, ‘Alright then, since everyone is waiting for us, let's make an album as soon as we return and repay those who have been waiting.’” He also recalled his own feelings at the time, saying: “I remember I was really looking forward to that time, wishing it would come quickly.”

Interestingly, just four days earlier, Jimin had also shared a somewhat funny yet нєαятвяєαкιиg story about Jungkook during the time they were both serving night duty in the military. “Me and Jungkook had back to back military night time watch duty and when I come back I go ‘Jungkook-ah wake up, you gotta wake up now,’ then he goes ‘AHHH FFF’,” Jimin said while laughing. He continued: “He didn't even care if the others heard or woke up and just goes ‘AHHH FFFFF’.” After about a minute of complaining, Jungkook finally sat up, rubbed his shaved head, and muttered hopelessly: “Hyung, what the h3ck are we even doing here.”

Meanwhile, RM himself had previously shared that military enlistment worsened his insomnia to the point where he had to see a doctor and undergo medication treatment for more than a year. It was not until he reunited with BTS during a song camp in Los Angeles that things finally started getting better. Many of the members have openly said that their military service period was an enormous mental challenge for them, even though it also came with meaningful memories.

Fans have always known that being away from the stage, away from fans, and living in a completely different environment for such a long time created tremendous pressure on the members. However, it was not until RM revealed BTS’s tearful conversation on the day Jin was discharged that fans truly realized just how overwhelmingly difficult that period had been for them, leaving many heartbroken!

Thankfully, BTS did not give up! The seven members stayed together, determined to overcome that difficult period and return even stronger with ARIRANG. Through this story, ARMYs have come to appreciate even more the journey all seven members went through together in order to stand on stage the way they do today:

- This honestly hurts to read because you can feel how ℓσѕт and emotionally drained they all were. Jungkook crying and asking Namjoon to help keep the team together genuinely breaks my heart. Even when they were struggling so badly, bts was still the first thing on their minds.

- Now I know why the eye contact during please with the line "stay with me on my worst day". Get your tissues ready while listening

- This is so saddening and I'm glad my boys are back. After all, they still had all seven of them together, and they were reborn even stronger — the 2026 AMAs Artist of the Year

- Now you know Jungkook has never ℓσѕт his smile once ever since he got back on stage. He loves BTS so much. OMG that’s his family

- Reading this while simultaneously seeing clips of them having fun and smiling at their concert is so. I’m just glad they’re free from that h3ll

- I realized just how much I missed Namu’s lives, where he’d take us behind the scenes of making every album and comeback, with no filter, no sugarcoating, just laying out the whole naked truth… it always showed how authentic they are, zero fake hype

- Sorry that they had to go through it & I hope they are in a gud place now, but nice family I suppose. Setting the song camp right when Jin was away

- They have been through so much individually and as a group . That’s real family energy. They carried so much, but still had each other through it all

- The way they gathered at jimin's house while all serving... the brotherhood runs deep fr

- One thing about jungkook is he would cry his hearrt to protect BTS, remember when he crried and hugged Hobi when he wanted to leave
