RM Lost His First Male Lead Role Since He Joined The Army

During the time since BTS announced their promotion of individual activities, fans have witnessed the members' personal color in their solo projects. They also get more interesting roles, besides Kpop superstars, such as becoming fashion icons, advertising models...

One thing that fans don't know is that RM even had the opportunity to become an opera actor. He can exactly take on the position of male lead in a play! This was recently revealed by the director of the кσяєαn National Drama Theater.

When he revealed this detail, fans were very sad because they almost saw RM in a completely new role:

BTS members in general and RM in particular are known for their versatility in the field of art in addition to being idols with admirable performance abilities. It includes acting because fans have witnessed how RM shows this aspect through BTS' MVs or short films.

However, in the past decade, except for V, the remaining members of BTS and RM have not had the opportunity to play the role of an actor. This comes from many factors such as his schedule being too busy (it seems like  he got no days off) or him having to focus on music production projects - his main field. Even most recently, enlisting in the army temporarily interrupted his career.

However, fans were even more regretful when they learned that enlisting in the army took away his first leading role in his life. In an interview, the director Choi Sang Ho, director of the National Opera revealed that he had planned to invite RM to participate in the opera A Midsummer night dream by William Shakespeare. In the end, he couldn't do it because he heard about RM joining the army.

The director Choi Sang Ho share that: "I thought it would be good to have a well-known celebrity play the role of Puck from the beginning. At first, I thought of RM (of BTS), but after hearing that he had served in the military, after several meetings, Kim Dong-wan was strongly recommended".

ARMYs seem to have been able to witness RM's first role in his life if enlisting in the army was not in the plan. Too bad that didn't happen! Fans couldn't stop screaming after learning this:

- WE COULD HAD ACTOR NAMJOON,WE WERE ROBBED

- WHAT THE ACTUAL F-

- Shakespeare and a fairy. It would’ve fit him so well

- You mean that we are little close to get actor Kim Namjoon

- FCVK YOU SK. BECOZ OF YOU WE DIDNT GET ACTOR KIM NAMJOON

- FACK YOU BLUE HOUSE YOU WILL PAY FOR IT !!!!!!!!

- We were so closed to witness actor Kim Namjoon but they robbed u

- so we were this close to getting namjoon in a shakespeare opera but military duty had to throw a wrench in the plans?

- this cant be real. this cant be.

- Sad part is, the director only had joon in his mind when he started off. He had to hold several meetings to find another celebrity who would be able to fill in his shoes. Like we definitely would have had it if joon wasn't in military.  I will hate SK govt. Till the end.

Meanwhile, the role that RM "might" take on is Puck, one of Shakespeare’s most enjoyable characters. In "A Midsummer Night's Dream," Puck is a mischievous sprite and Oberon’s servant and jester. Puck is nearly the play’s most adorable character, and he stands out from the other fairies that drift through the play.

Although the opportunity has unfortunately pαѕѕed, it is also a good sign. It's very possible that when RM returns in 2025, he will receive similar offers and fans can actually see an actor Kim Nam Joon on stage!
