Some quick-witted fans decided to αѕѕign this task to BTS themselves, imagining that if they had to pick just one member to recommend to ARMY as a boyfriend, who would they choose? With over a decade of working together and nearly ten years of living together in a dorm, BTS members are clearly the ones who know each other best—so they might be able to choose the most outstanding one among them.
RM, j-hope, and V’s answers are especially meaningful because they are the only members in the group who have sisters. From that position, they may have an even more objective and accurate perspective on which of them would be the best man for a woman. However, it’s also worth noting that although they gave a straightforward answer, the names have changed over time—especially in j-hope’s case.
The most recent time j-hope was asked this question was during his “Charm Of Hope” video fan-sign event last July. In a 60-second private call, a female fan gathered all her courage and asked the BTS rapper: “Can you introduce me to a boyfriend from BTS members?”
j-hope paused for a few seconds, as if thinking deeply, then broke into a bright smile and replied, “I’ll introduce you to a ‘friend’” — before casually calling out, “RM!” The fan was clearly ѕнσ¢кed and asked, “Really?” Meanwhile, ARMYs were just as surprised that j-hope gave the green light and suggested the leader as the top candidate for ARMY’s “dream boyfriend.”
So why did j-hope choose RM? In fact, the reason is not hard to understand. Known for his high IQ, calm and dependable personality, sense of humor, and comforting presence, RM gives off the energy of a “safe space”—exactly what anyone would want in a romantic relationship. With the experience of someone who already has a brother-in-law, j-hope felt that RM was now a suitable recommendation for ARMY.
However, what’s interesting is that a few years earlier, j-hope didn’t seem to consider RM as his top choice the way he does now.
More specifically, in another similar situation involving RM, j-hope, and V, RM immediately brought up Jimin. He even explained his reasoning in detail to prove that his choice was convincing. First, he pointed to Jimin’s gentle and sweet personality. According to the leader, Jimin is calm, knows how to ease tense situations, and would love and spoil his girlfriend.

One example supporting RM’s evaluation is Jimin’s action during a shoot with famous photographer Mugunghwa Sonyeo (MUGUNG). “It was very hot and also raining heavily on that day. While I was working, JIMIN came over and put an umbrella over me. I will never forget JIMIN and his kindness,” she recalled.
At the time, j-hope agreed with RM, describing Jimin as a kind-hearted boy with a gentle and friendly personality. He also added that Jimin is very lovable. Meanwhile, V was no different from the older members and even added that he was impressed by Jimin’s innocence and warm heart.
The fact that RM, j-hope, and V all named Jimin once again proves just how good and “perfect” he is. At the same time, j-hope wavering between Jimin and RM at different periods shows the special charm of RM’s maturity and reliability.
