BTS’s visit to Peru holds great significance, as this marks the first time all seven members have appeared together to meet their local fans. However, the clash between fans’ enthusiastic reception and the artists’ right to rest has turned fan support culture into a new challenge.
Earlier, on the 7th, RM had to speak out directly on Weverse about the situation, saying, “The noise reaches all the way into our rooms, making it impossible for everyone to get a good night’s sleep.” He also earnestly asked fans to refrain from gathering outside the hotel so that the members and their staff could get some rest. He further pointed out that other hotel guests were being affected as well, urging the crowds to stop surrounding the hotel and allow everyone to have the privacy they needed.

Despite RM’s plea, large crowds continued to be spotted around the hotel, with the situation escalating into other forms of harαѕѕment, including shining lasers and flying drones toward the building. The situation became serious enough that RM had to address the issue directly onstage once again during the second night of BTS’s concert in Lima.
During his lengthy closing speech to 50,000 fans, RM addressed the issue, saying: “The post I wrote yesterday wasn’t just about αмєяι¢α or Peru. Similar things have happened in Europe and the United States, and they’ve actually been happening for a long time. They can happen in Asia, too. I know very well that many of you try not to approach us, and even when you see us on the street, you pretend not to recognize us. But using drones or pointing lasers at us is actually not okay”.
According to reports, the incident took place on the night of the 8th, local time, following a drone show held in the Miraflores district of Lima to welcome BTS. After the show ended, hundreds or even thousands of people did not disperse. Instead, they flocked to the area outside the hotel where BTS was staying, surrounding the building, screaming, and causing a disturbance.
Several videos circulating on social media clearly showed some people in the crowds shining lasers toward the hotel windows. According to RM, they also used drones to disturb the members by flying them toward windows they believed belonged to the rooms where BTS was resting.
Meanwhile, in addition to ignoring RM’s earlier plea and continuing to surround the hotel with lasers and drones, crowds have also been reported blocking BTS’s vehicle in recent days. Local media outlets such as DSN and Infobae have also reported on videos showing a crowd surrounding a vehicle believed to be carrying BTS and their staff, preventing it from moving while shouting and demanding that the windows be rolled down so they could see the idols.
Despite having to speak out for a second time as the harαѕѕment escalated into more serious forms, RM remained careful to distinguish these disturbing actions from the Peruvian ARMY community as a whole. He emphasized that there were still so many amazing and lovely fans, expressing his hope that genuine ARMYs would not misunderstand his words as criticism directed at them. The idol also repeatedly expressed his gratitude and affection for the genuine fans and the country.
RM’s choice of words shows that he is determined to protect BTS’s privacy while continuing to cherish their genuine supporters. Unfortunately, the actions of a portion of the crowd have not only disrupted the members’ and staff’s rest but also overshadowed the memorable experience that both Peruvian ARMYs and BTS had been looking forward to.

RM’s latest remarks have once again sparked widespread outrage among fans:
- I know it’s not all Peruvian army s but I was worried about there safety and just thought it was best for them to leave but they love us army so much they stayed this is how much love they have for us. Joonie's speech was so eye opening and really amazing
- Namjoon having to say this out loud is so exhausting but hes right, theres a difference between being excited and being disrespectful. people forget theyre real people with real eyes
- What a shame it should bring them! They were told twice, and they're sure to keep going. YOU PEOPLE GOTTA GO! And Namjoon you don't have to feel bad at all!
- Those fuvkers owe BTS and RM the BIGGEST apology. No matter how sнιтty y’all treat him, he always ends up being kind to you. this world doesn’t deserve Kim Namjoon…
- How sweetly Namjoon told them... After this if they do that again... I have to say that they don’t deserve Namjoon!
- What a great person he is, how he still takes the time to clarify his words and not allow them to be twisted to promote яα¢ιѕт and xenophobic rhetoric
- Someone gotta get that guy who pointed the laser! What even goes on in their stupid heads?? Losers!
- As an ARMY, it hurts that Namjoon even has to explain soмєтнing as basic as respecting their privacy. We love them, but we’re not entitled to every part of their lives. It's so frustrating that people hate on him or twist his words after he speaks up
