Incubated for a long time since the mixtape "mono" was released 4 years ago, RM officially released a solo album titled "Indigo" on December 2. The music product includes 10 songs like a diary containing his most honest thoughts, feelings and thoughts.

However, during the livestream of Indigo's behind-the-scenes stories, RM shared the true highest purpose he wants Indigo to achieve.

With the release of Indigo, RM is officially the next member of BTS to go solo. "Indigo" is RM's own thoughts and difficulties during his singing career, so what he wants most is peaceful days.

The title track "Wild Flower" is a Rap/Hip Hop song written by the male singer himself in collaboration with Doskim. “Wild Flower” conveys the desire to live a peaceful and calm day like a wild flower, not a life that is as bright and flashy as fireworks and then disappears in an instant.

This time, RM showcases the diversity of musical colors through collaborations with famous artists such as American R&B/Soul vocalist Erykah Badu, 8 Grammy Award-winning artist Anderson .Paak or singing/music Doctor Mahalia. There are also some other guests such as Tablo (Epik High), Colde and Paul Blanco…

As with previous mixtape releases, after the album came out, RM took a moment to talk with ARMY about Indigo's music. Through this talk, RM also shared much of the meaning and essence of what Indigo wanted to achieve when he produced it.

RM started talking about the birth of Indigo thanks to ARMY's words of encouragement and encouragement. Because ARMY always encouraged him to do what he liked, the entire album and the promotional content for the album were made according to what he wanted.

RM said that: "You all often say to me 'Do everything you want to do Kim Namjoon'. This time I really did everything I wanted to. Not thinking about rankings in the US or Korea, things like that hehe. Look at me now too, I'm doing what I want to. I'm doing a concert like this in nearly 10 years, and I really wanted to do one."

Not only that, RM also talked about the true meaning in music that he wants to achieve. It's not about it becoming popular on Tiktok or aiming for high rankings on music charts.

What RM wants to aim for is a music that can last forever in the hearts of fans and leave a deep impression, rather than passing and making people unimpressed about it. He even accepts compliments or criticisms about his music because he thinks that at least his music will get their attention and discussion.

RM emphasized: "I feel this everytime I make an album but im not too sure what exactly I've made. Rather than what goes viral and goes on Tiktok or places number 1 on the charts right now. Of course it would be great if those things happen, but during our lives, when we meet hardships or at some point when we hear this music the effects of it stays with us for a long time.

This comforted me or this is like my story, in moments that have a lot of meaning to us. After a long time when we look back a few years after 'Why did I not like this music', 'Why did I like this music'. There are a lot of instances like that. Like that, what I hate the most with a song or an album is when something is 'so-so'. Ah its just so-so. Ah it just passes by~

I think it's great that there are differences in preferences and theres people that like it and also dislike it."

Always, the purpose of making music of RM in particular or BTS in general has never stopped at a music just for entertainment, it is also music to heal and to enjoy, to go deep into the soul. With all those in mind, RM and BTS have become legendary artists of K-pop music that all must admire:

- his crafted music tells so much stories i hope people get to appreciate and reflect their lives on it at some point in their lives, it’s truly great to have someone you look up to as someone who can understand the hardships of life 

- One of million reasons why we love this man, as we knew him always, a person who isn't seeking clout or numbers, a one with a genuine purpose that finds his happiness in others', wanting to have a positive impact on others' life, a pure soul! I keep falling for him even harder
