Despite an extremely busy year-end schedule, RM still took the time to meet fans through a short Weverse Live broadcast on the 6th. The leader shared that after finishing the group’s schedules, he wanted to chat a little with ARMYs before starting his workout. This υиєχρє¢тє∂ appearance thrilled fans, especially amid the recent chaos.
Unfortunately, some fans left inappropriate comments or made excessive demands, creating an awkward atmosphere. RM had to repeatedly explain himself and firmly ask these viewers to respect him and the other members to prevent further issues.
Fortunately, amid this tense atmosphere, a piece of good news from RM “rescued” the live broadcast. He announced that he is preparing to take his driving test—a milestone that both he and fans have been anticipating for years.
At one point, RM υиєχρє¢тє∂ly shared: “Also, I've been trying to get my driving license! I've been wanting to tell you guys. My test is up soon too!” His expression, full of self-pride mixed with excitement and slight shyness in front of the fans, made ARMYs laugh and gush over how adorable he is.
Although getting a driver’s license isn’t a big deal—since the other six BTS members already have theirs—for RM, it had been a significant challenge for many years. On reality travel shows, he has always sat in the backseat while other members took turns being the driver. Even though he could easily own luxury cars, RM has continued to enjoy walking, biking, or using public transportation.
Moreover, in 2019, when an ARMY shared they had failed their driving test, RM humorously replied: “That's why I never do the test. Lol, no worries, at least this planet has Namjoon.” This playful comment inadvertently became a “declaration” that lasted six years, making fans αѕѕume RM would never attempt to get a license.
Additionally, RM once shared a vision test result sheet, showing that he suffers from severe myopia of over -11 diopters in both eyes, along with astigmatism of about -2.50 diopters. This level of eyesight, clαѕѕified as “high myopia,” can affect driving, especially in low-light conditions or at night, which led ARMYs to suspect this as one of the reasons he hesitated to get his license.
However, RM’s recent formal announcement shows that he has broken the “¢υяѕє” and even overturned his own six-year-old statement, deciding to finally become his own driver. His announcement also hints at a future BTS reality trip, where fans may see the leader driving the other members.
