Since their debut in 2013, BTS has seen their fame and popularity reach record highs. Along with that, the biggest achievements in their artist career are gradually being perfected.
Perhaps, as of now, one of the only míssíng awards currently for them is a GRAMMY award. Another year this awards ceremony is approaching and BTS also received 3 nominations for GRAMMYs 2023.
Of course, with these nominations, BTS is expected to appear and become the "main event" as always. However, it is worth noting that BTS is currently promoting individual activities and recently GQ ̾k̾o̾r̾e̾a seems to have revealed BTS's plans for this year's awards ceremony:
Over the years, despite not receiving recognition through winning awards, the BTS members have demonstrated their "Main Event" status at every event they attend, whether it's on the red carpet or on stage. Even GRAMMYs, which gather many famous US-UK stars, sometimes have to give the spotlight to Kpop superstars.
Ahead of the upcoming GRAMMYs event next month, many are looking forward to BTS's plans for the ceremony. Because perhaps it will have many changes this year due to the group's active lineup without Jin - who is enlisting in the army, while the other members are focusing on solo activities.
Some netizens speculated that Jungkok and RM were the two members representing BTS at this year's GRAMMYs. Well, but it seems like the ̾k̾o̾r̾e̾an outlet GQ ̾k̾o̾r̾e̾a might have αccídєntally revealed the group’s plans for the upcoming event.
In the original post from the outlet about the GRAMMYs, ARMYs noticed that the post seemed to reveal that BTS’s leader, RM, would be attending the event on behalf of the members. They wrote that: "Although all members cannot participate together due to Jin’s military enlistment issue, currently, RM is planned to attend the awars ceremony as BTS’s representative. You can tune in to the 65th Grammy Awards on Feb 5 at 9am KST."
Yet, after the post was initially shared, a netizen noticed that GQ ̾k̾o̾r̾e̾a quickly edited the caption of their post, removing any mention of RM.
After the post was shared, netizens explained that they would wait for BTS, HYBE, or BIGHIT MUSIC to announce the group’s plans for the event officially.
Yet, it wasn’t surprising to see many ARMYs in the retweets sharing their apprehension about the possibility of RM attending the show:
- Me personally I hope they don't go
- GRAMMYs followed namkook...i think bigh̾i̾t ̾ made them delete as they don't want anyone to leak their plans. Waiting for the official confimation
- I have mixed feelings abt this if this is true
- That show doesn't deverse their presence. They have used them enough.
For the past few years, ARMYs have raised anger at the treatment of BTS by the GRAMMYs and the number of times the group has been snubbed, whether it was losing out on awards or not even being nominated. Along with the members, stars like DJ TETRIS and Halsey even addressed the group’s treatment.
With BTS making history with their nominations for this year’s event, it will be interesting to see if RM attends and whether the group will finally get a deserved win at the GRAMMYs.
