On May 21, 2025, Qatar Tourism Authority Chairman Saad Bin Ali Al Kharji revealed this national plan during the 5th Qatar Economic Forum and quickly attracted the attention of fans on social media platforms.

Chairman Al Kharji recalled Jungkook's impressive performance that led to the country inviting BTS to hold a concert. However, he stated that the event could not take place because Jungkook, the group's main vocalist, was enlisting in the military at the time.

According to кσяєαn media outlet, Yonhap News, Saad Bin Ali Al Kharji said: "We tried to invite BTS last year as well, but it didn't happen because the main vocalist was serving in the military".

After the announcement was made, fans were quick to express their great disappointment, calling it "another lost opportunity". They pointed out that the 2024 Super Bowl halftime show was also canceled for the same reason.

Even the famous actor Kim Ji Hoon claimed in a show that: "For me, 100% Jungkook, he's just so good. Personally, what I find so frustrating is Standing Next To You. He teamed up with Usher and absolutely crushed it, but he enlisted in the military then. If he hadn't gone to the military, then I swear, he could've done the Super Bowl halftime show. That's what I really regret, seriously."
