For K-pop idols, appearance is always one of the most crucial elements in winning the public’s affection. That’s why they often appear flawless in public, rarely revealing any imperfections on their bo∂ιєs.
Jungkook is no exception. He’s world-renowned for his stunning looks—from his god-like face to his enviable body proportions. With bright visuals, perfectly balanced features, and a strong, charismatic physique, his fans often overlook the small marks on his body—as if they don’t even exist.
However, in reality, he is still a human being with natural imperfections. Falls, bumps, or even injuries during training, performing, or everyday life have left scars on his body—unerasable, yet unforgettable.
What makes Jungkook even more admirable is his openness in sharing these stories with his fans, adding a layer of raw honesty to his already captivating image. Below are three stories tied to three scars on his body—memories that stem not only from childhood mischief but also from the hardships of his career.
Some of these scars, he admits, even make him feel regretful—yet they’ve taught him important lessons about protecting himself.
The first scar, often unnoticed, is on his left cheek. It’s usually completely covered by makeup, making it hard for fans to see. Jungkook once revealed that this scar came from a wild moment in childhood—he was playing with his older brother when he got hurt, and it eventually left a mark.
The second scar is one that long-time fans are likely familiar with—the one on his left heel. It was the result of a serious injury Jungkook suffered when he was cut by a sharp object while stretching backstage before a performance during the Love Yourself Tour in London, 2018.
In BTS’s documentary, fans could see how deep the wound was, bleeding heavily and requiring stitches from medical staff. It took weeks to fully heal. Yet throughout the entire ordeal, Jungkook never cried from the pain—only from the heartbreak of not being able to perform for ARMY.
Reflecting on the incident, Jungkook said: "I was so out of my mind on the first day (of the concert). I couldn’t focus. I regretted it so much. I blamed myself. Why did I do that? Why did I warm up?’ If so, this wouldn't have happened. The fact that I couldn't perform made me so sad that I burst into tears. I also feel embarrαѕѕed."
Lastly, the third scar is located on his left shoulder. Jungkook injured it during a photoshoot for the Calvin Klein Fall 2023 campaign. He later talked about it directly with fans during a livestream.
"I got the scar from that one scene where I’m running downhill in that parking structure thing. Yeah, for the [Calvin Klein] shoot, I tried running down the structure. But the surface was slippery, so I fell. And my shoulders took some impact. I, like, rolled over. I couldn’t move my fingers, either. But it’s completely healed now. I’m totally fine. It’s OK! Stuff like that happens", he explained.
In addition to these three major scars, fans also noticed a few new marks on Jungkook’s arm after he enlisted—possibly burn-like scars. Many believe they may have resulted from his role as the designated cook in the military camp, as he once served as the army chef.
Ultimately, each injury brought not only physical pain and emotional exhaustion, but also valuable lessons about the importance of self-care. Fans continue to hope that neither Jungkook nor any of the BTS members will have to endure similar incidents again in the future.
