Since BTS and the issue of m̴i̴l̴i̴t̴a̴r̴y̴ enlistment have been taken care of, it seems that the negatives have not stopped stalking the members. Even as Jin and most recently j-hope enlisted in the pride of their fans, haters were constantly looking for details to make BTS' image worse.
Recently, a controversy raged after some people alleged that j-hope was given preferential treatment during his enlistment. This criticism comes from the fact that all BTS members, bodyguards, and staff joined with j-hope inside the barracks area while the army announced that only 1 car is allowed to enter the m̴i̴l̴i̴t̴a̴r̴y̴ enlistment site.
Immediately after this accusation was spread, the m̴i̴l̴i̴t̴a̴r̴y̴ unit in charge of j-hope has clarified the matter and ARMYs are now spreading the truth to avoid negative misunderstandings about BTS and the issue of enlistment.
On April 18, j-hope enlisted as an active-duty rookie through the boot camp of the 36th Infantry Division's Baekho unit in Wonju, Gangwon Province. As previously announced, j-hope quietly enlisted in the army without any special greetings from fans or reporters.
This mєthod was chosen because of concerns that crowds would gather at the site and cause damage to enlisted servicemen at the same time. Previously, Bł₲ Ⱨł₮ Music, BTS's management company, also reminded fans that: "In order to prevent any chaotic situations and safety a̾c̾c̾i̾d̾e̾n̾ts, we strongly insist that fans do not visit the site. Please just send your warm wishes of greetings and encouragements in heart only."
Naturally, fans didn't visit the website as requested but sent a large bus equipped with cheering banners to support j-hope's m̴i̴l̴i̴t̴a̴r̴y̴ life on the route to the barracks. Along with that, reporters presenting at the scene also maintained order according to the instructions of the m̴i̴l̴i̴t̴a̴r̴y̴.
j-hope and ARMYs continue to be positively praised for their fan culture. However, an unnecessary controversy occurred a few days later when it came from a source that j-hope received preferential treatment from the boot camp during his enlistment.
As reported by Newsis, the newspaper pointed out that on the notice of the sign at the entrance of the Baekho Center, it says, "Only one vehicle is allowed to enter the unit." This means that most civilians can only have one vehicle entering the m̴i̴l̴i̴t̴a̴r̴y̴ base on the day of their enlistment. Not only that, but recruits must also present a notice of enlistment and must be checked in advance at the gate before having a ticket to enter the enlistment site.
However, Newsis argues that j-hope's case is quite special. This newspaper said that j-hope received the ticket many days before through the management company - Bł₲ Ⱨł₮ Music and pαssed through the security gate without facing any strict control compared to other trainees.
In particular, six HYBE cars were allowed to enter the barracks with j-hope, more than the previous regulation. Therefore, j-hope naturally became the subject of controversy about fairness during the time of enlistment, receiving special treatment over other sol∂ιєrs. Many haters took advantage of this news and then spread false accusations to destroy the reputation of BTS members.
Faced with misinformation on the matter, the m̴i̴l̴i̴t̴a̴r̴y̴ unit that manages j-hope immediately made an announcement on the morning of June 21. They explained that there was only one vehicle is allowed into the unit for safety control purposes, but not only j-hope but also normal trainees are allowed in and out of many vehicles in case of force majeure.
In addition, they also emphasize that it is a recommended limit, not a mandatory regulation. This m̴i̴l̴i̴t̴a̴r̴y̴ official clarified: "It's not that we sent back any civilian vehicles if someone came with two cars of family or friends. The general regulation of one vehicle per recruit was advised for safety purposes, but there was no necessity to strictly enforced the regulation."
Along with that, the fact that j-hope received the pαss in advance without any control is because the m̴i̴l̴i̴t̴a̴r̴y̴ unit and j-hope's management company worked together to facilitate the enlistment process of j-hope many days ago. His case is more special and remarkable compared to other trainees. j-hope as well as his family and BTS worked hard so as not to affect the general enlistment of the barracks.
Later, many ARMYs also pointed out in the behind-the-scenes video of j-hope's enlistment, which was released on the 19th through BTS Bangtan TV's official YouTube channel, that he and the BTS members parked in the parking lot of a nearby party hall instead of going straight to the enlistment site. They only went through the gate with 6 cars outside the revenue of enlistment.
This party hall is about a 3-minute drive from j-hope's official enlistment place. j-hope just greeted his members and family in turn before going to the Baekho Recruiting Training Center alone. He, like a lot of ordinary sol∂ιєrs, enlisted quietly without any special privileges.
Currently, ARMYs are requesting news agencies that report false news to immediately remove and correct the information. In addition, fans also reacted violently to those who falsely made accusations about BTS's enlistment:
- to be honest, there cannot be "no special treatment" i mean, can the m̴i̴l̴i̴t̴a̴r̴y̴ ask Jin or J-Hope to don his m̴i̴l̴i̴t̴a̴r̴y̴ outfit with helmet and rifle and do Sentry duty at the guard house outside the camp?? of cos not, it will be like chaos with all the fans trying to take photo of him outside..can they ask him to take a shovel and shovel snow outside in the winter season? you think its possible? for someone to take photo of him shovelling snow? i cant imagine what the ARMY (his fans) will do the the real ARMY.. lol There are times they have to make "Special arrangements" for public safety sake like how some airports have to whisk celebs through VIP exits, so maybe the camp allowed more vehicles from HYBE to have special clearance to allow him to pαss through quickly.
- Yes, not only idols, but anyone whose public appearance would cause an uproar or riot will need special treatment. You literally cannot expect them to be treated "just like anyone else" because then it will be affecting the public. I mean why do celebs get to go through the vip gate in the airport while normal people have to wait? Yes, it's special treatment but without doing so, normal people would have to wait longer or even potentially not even be able to get in line. Celebrities ARE special, get over yourselves.
- people be nit-picking on bts with anything... when I read ''special treatment'' i thought it is about them getting special treatment while serving INSIDE, but they r talking about them even before entering, people really want bts to have a m̴i̴l̴i̴t̴a̴r̴y̴ scandal to cancel them quickly because they know this will be the only way.. nonsense
- Oh please what's next? They're already serving their mandatory service. When you contribute trillions to your nation maybe having a few cars in with your loved ones, friends etc is not too much to ask? No? Newsflash they're not just "ordinary citizens", they're the BTS.
- So having multiple cars enter the base to say goodbye to their fellow sol∂ιєr is "preferential treatment"? Like you do you hear yourself? Throwing a fit over the amt of car entering the premises is stupid. Thought it was somєthing like g-dragon where he got extra vacation days or they're not actually serving or somєthing. If my loved one is going to the army to spend 2 years away, you bet there's gonna be at least 10 cars of family/friends sending my loved one off.
- I’m not an ARMY but I gotta say how absolutely f*cking ridiculous this is lmfaooo.
- D@mn… does that mean NCT will need a whole bus if they were to follow the one vehicle rule?
- Oh leave them alone. Can’t even serve their country in peace.
- This is ridiculous. These guys have done so much for ḳöŕệä imo and I'm not even a big fan. People b1tching about a few extra cars? Losers.
- They make this sound like it was some special treatment. I'm not a fan of Bangtan but this is just bullsh*t. Just look at Yoon Seok-yul or his wife or in-laws. Those are the people who are living off special treatment
- This is oba...
- There's nobody else who would think that these are special treatments aside from trash journalists
- F*ck, just how sensitive people are about the army topic that we are getting articles like this?
- There are other places where special treatments are really given tsk tsk. Trash journalists are playing dírtч
- Ahㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋthey didn't even went into the unitㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ Is the journalist not embarrαssed of this?ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
- Is the journalist making up bullsh*t because they didn't get to see Bangtan's faces? Sigh, seriously, this is so dírtч
- They are just mad because Bangtan didn't greet them or somєthing
- Trash journalists succeeded at feeding the trolls...
- This is so pathetic... how is this considered "special treatment"?
