HYBE president Bang Hyun Shik is said to have personally responded to the invitation and met with the head of MBC today. The feud between HYBE and MBC goes back to 2019 when BTS was absent from MBC's big year-end show MBC Gayo Daejejeon. The reason for BTS's absence was that they had a schedule to appear on the New York Times Square on New Year's Day before. But this still makes MBC "angry".

They said that BTS appeared in both year-end music shows of SBS and KBS while only MBC's show was removed from their schedule.
