Killin' It Girl by j-hope Lost All Score On 2 Major Music Shows After Being Labeled 19+, Sparking Backlash From Fans

On June 13, j-hope returned with his new digital single “Killin’ It Girl” featuring rapper GloRilla. Shortly after its release, the song rose to the top of iTunes charts in many countries around the world.

According to BIGHIT MUSIC, 1 day after its release, “ “Killin’ It Girl” had already reached No. 1 on iTunes Top Songs charts in at least 61 different regions, including Australia, вяαzιℓ, ∂єимαяк, and fяαи¢є. Meanwhile, j-hope’s solo version of “Killin’ It Girl” followed at No. 2 in many different regions.

The music video surpαѕѕed 1 million views in just 43 minutes, becoming the fastest кσяєαn artist MV of 2025 to reach that milestone. The MV also entered the Top 10 Trending Videos on YouTube in at least 38 different regions, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, and ¢αиα∂α.

With its bold visuals, dynamic choreography, and hot chemistry, 'Killin' It Girl' has become a favorite summer theme song worldwide. j-hope's spectacular transformation when he went shirtless, revealing his chest and abs, along with his seductive duet dance, made ARMYs explode with excitement, calling it the beginning of his 'Chapter 2' era.

During the promotion period for his newly released solo song, j-hope participated in a number of talk shows and especially promoted on weekly music shows - soмєтнing BTS hasn't done in a long time. Speaking about this decision, j-hope affirmed that it was because of the fans' wishes: "This schedule is a choice made solely for ARMY".

While j-hope's goal was to respond to the fans' love, ARMYs also did their best to vote and increase j-hope's points so that he could win the trophy during this promotion. But recently, fans were extremely angry when they learned that Killin' It Girl was rated 19+ in кσяєα and it affected his music show scores.

As a result, per the regulations of Music Core and Inkigayo, the MV’s views will not be factored into their scoring systems, meaning its SNS score will remain at 0 for both shows. However, M Countdown does not apply this restriction, so the MV’s views will still be included in its score there.

This also means that j-hope's chances of winning on these music shows are greatly reduced, despite the scores that fans had tried to achieve before. ARMYs are also angry that the 19+ label was unreasonably αѕѕigned because most of the segments in the MV were not that sensitive.

Fans expressed their anger at j-hope losing all points and the MV being labeled "unreasonably":

- I have seen steamy scenes in kdramas, but this is 19+, so hilarious

- Oh so debuting minors is okay but minors watching this is not okay

- Since that is the case...which is ridiculous....we need to put all effort into the other areas they use for scoring....be mad...but put that anger into adding points for Hobi

- seriously dude sk makes minor girls kpop idol make them were short clothes n make them do those dance moves n this is 19 19 19

- IN WHAT WAYYY?? the meaning of the song is basically “army slay the house down”

- See how a feminist song which is used by women around the world is being rated 19+ in SK. Yeah now you know why the birth rate is zero. Good for them

- And of course they avoid to say it before !!! This is a real BS !!!! The karma will slap back these hypocrite!!!

- 19+ is just beyond ridiculous. On what basis did they come to that decision? Even if I don’t agree I could understand maybe 15+ but 19.

- they saw a grown man and a woman in mv together and labeled it 19+

- Wtf??? Why label it 19+?? The lyrics and everything is fine!??

- 19+??? Was it because Hobi is shirtless or the hip swaying or their chemistry?? ridiculous!!

- J-hope is really going to these shows only to perform for armys.

- The solo version isn’t 19+. Only the feat. GloRilla version is. So I’m guessing it’s in the rap lyrics. Perhaps the b word?

- They can have minors twerking on the camera but can't let grown up people dance exotic, huh?

- No but i’m losing it ?? Even if IF it deserved an age restriction WHY does it not count in the scoring if people who are of age stream it ???? It such bs
