Originating from a trend on SNS, Dance challenge now seems to become an indispensable part of the music industry. Even top Kpop idols cannot refuse the attraction of each dance challenge.
Most recently, the "Smoke challenge" trend is leading and receiving a lot of attention from fans and idols. There are many famous Kpop artists who participated in recreating this dance and each artist has their own style when performing it.
Therefore, Kpop fans opened a thread where they discussed who performed the "Smoke challenge" best. Among the artists, a few names have been mentioned the most:
Over the years, Dance challenge has become one of the most popular trends among dancers, idols and fans. This is a form of creating an original choreography and then challenging other participants to recreate it.
Over time, dance challenge not only becomes a trend that people are interested in, but it also becomes a way to promote a music product or a dance that becomes viral. Most recently, Smoke has become a famous song on social networks thanks to this ṃệẗḧod.
Composed by Dynamic Duo and Padi, Smoke is a song for Street Woman Fighter 2, sung by Dynamic Duo himself featuring Lee Young Ji. Immediately after its release, Smoke's dance choreographed by Bada fascinated Kpop fans as well as many artists in the industry.
Since then, many idols have participated in "Smoke challenge" and supported this song. Typical examples include new generation artists such as IVE's Ahn YuJin, DreamNote's SuMin, ITZY's YeJi & RyuJin, tripleS' NaKyoung, VERIVERY's KangMin, ATEEZ's San, P1Harmony's JiUng & InTak, RIIZE's Shotaro and KISS OF LIFE's Natty....
Not only that, even top artists like V and Jungkook cannot deny the appeal of this unique song's choreography. V even performed this dance challenge with Bada Lee, the choreographer for the challenge and GOF dancer. The participation of top idols makes the challenge even hotter.
K-pop fans are currently debating who did the 'Smoke Challenge' best. The original poster wrote: "To be honest, I think none of the idols did a good job at taking on that challenge. But then everyone says their bias kílled it lol."
Immediately after, this post sparked discussion in the comments section and many netizens mentioned the name of the idol they considered the most worthy:
- V did well. He even got positive comments from a site where they criticize most male idols.
- Shotaro did well.
- Jungkook's had crazy reactions. 4 million likes and 100 million views in just 6 hours.
- Tbh, I think the choreography is hard for dance challenges. 'Hey Mama' was way better in that sense.
- Objectively, y'all can forget everyone else except for male- Shotaro female- Natty
- Jungkook had reactions from the original choreographers including Bada Lee herself.
- how versatile V is and how he manages to tackle both fast and relaxed steps. The video left fans watching on a loop and wanting more and more.
- Shotaro did really well.
- ITZY’s yeji & ryujin ate it up too but my favorite was Kyujin! THAT Girl ateeee
- Overall I like JK’s best cuz he had power but control of the moves at the same time, but V did the grinding move the best lol
- I will add that I think because of the fact that he(JK) did his dance in what looked like a bedroom at the foot of the bed with limited space, it also limited his dance/movement quite a bit as opposed to the studio for example. Therefore, I think his (JK) would have been even better had he had more space to dance. But, I honestly haven’t even seen anyone else other than the ones from this article and V’s. So, I really couldn’t say imo who overall is the best.
- V because he нιт that one arm swing move satisfyingly
- I like V and the ateez guy. I never thought V can dance this good? So clean detailed and those expressions are crazy
- Shotaro's impressive in the first part, but V hands down wins this one. It's those lightning fast head turns/head flips he adds, that no one else does. I can't get over, how insane it looks.
