“As a global citizen, I will give my all on stage tonight!” - Jungkook said before performing at Global Citizen Festival. And he really rocked the show at Saturday night's show in New York's Central Park.
Despite the unfavorable weather, Jungkook still made thousands of spectators wearing raincoats cheer and enthusiastically look towards the stage, forgetting the cold weather. Not only that, Jungkook also brought hotter news than ever about the fact that he will release a new single "3D" in collaboration with Jack Harlow.
However, later, Jungkook revealed that he was not happy about some fans revealing this surprising information earlier, making the gift he gave to fans less interesting. Below is Jungkook's reaction to some ARMYs leaking about his new project:
On this day, Jungkook became the headliner of Global Citizen Festival, representing BTS at the largest festival in äṃệŕïċä this year. The Global Citizen Festival is a large-scale charity performance organized by the international citizen movement organization Global Citizen and has been held annually since 2012 to raise awareness of global issues such as extreme poverty, famine and climate change.
BTS appeared at the event in 2021 and performed 'Permission to Dance' and 'Butter' against the backdrop of ḳöŕệä's national treasure, Sungnyemun Gate. Meanwhile, this year, Jungkook continued to show the power of BTS when he was the first Asian solo artist to become the main performer alongside rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers and pop star Lauryn Hill at the event.
At Central Park, thousands of teenage auďïệnces cheered loudly for Jungkook more than on any other stage. ARMYs wearing purple raincoats symbolize BTS constantly screaming and harmonizing in their solo songs 'Euphoria', 'Still With You', and the global ḧïẗ 'Seven'. The highlight of the day's performance was the end of the stage when Jungkook suddenly revealed his plans to release his new digital single '3D' as the words appeared on the festival's big screen.
Immediately, fans were surprised and happy that solo artist Jungkook returned after 2 months since the release of Seven in July. However, for Jungkook, it seemed that this joy was not complete when during his latest live broadcast, he seemed to cutely "sulk" at some fans for leaking the news before his official announcement.
Specifically, Jungkook said: "I threw out an idea 'What if we release the video after the performance' so it happened like that. Ah but it's a shame that yesterday I was rehearsing and someone filmed it and posted it. Who was it ? You shouldn't do that. There's somєthing called a surprise, hmmm?"
As it turned out, he was always updating SNS and he realized that there were some eagle-eyed fans who spread the news about the new song release after spotting the line during the rehearsal. There were some fans who attended Jungkook's rehearsal the day before the official performance and thus, they revealed to others about this discovery but that unintentionally made the surprise he gave them less interesting than he expected.
Faced with Jungkook's disappointment because the gift was revealed first, fans admitted his mistake and learned from it for the next time:
- we are still very surprised best fren we're sorry ut turned out that way.
- You all made my baby upset
- We were still surprised today baby don't be upset
- yikes..... lesson learnt guys! please don't spread it online if it's a new thing u happened to come across....
- I found out about it today after his performance so I got the surprise as he meany it
- I WAS SURPRISED!! I DIDNT EVEN SEE ANYTHING YESTERDAY
- αωє im so sorry for that :(
- I never saw anything posted about it. I must have some great moots. I was surprised tonight JK. I was excited.
- i saw the video but I PROMISE I HAD NO IDEA
- i’m so sorry for sharing it more :(
- I promise it was still a huge surprise jungkook :((
- I honestly don’t know what’s going on with the fandom like we used to be protective against spoilers but now whenever a leak happens people spread it like crazy…the boys love giving us surprises and that’s never changed, only we’ve changed
Meanwhile, according to the latest announcement on Bł₲ Ⱨł₮ Music's Weverse, '3D' will be released on the 29th of this month, "is a Pop R&B track with clever expressions of feelings toward an unattainable person from the perspectives of first, second, and third dimensions. Get ready to meet an even more mature side of Jung Kook following “Seven (feat. Latto)”. Jack Harlow has featured in this track, bringing his unique rap style and adding zest to the song". This song is feated with rapper Jack Harlow, who topped Billboard's 'Hot 100' chart with 'Industry Baby' x Lil Nas. On saturday this week, Harlow also tweeted on X a status that "I’ll fly u from Korea to Kentucky" to hint about his participation in new project.
Jungkook's new song was released about two months after “Seven” in July this year. In that time, he emerged as a global solo pop star, reaching number one on Billboard's 'Hot 100' with 'Seven'. Therefore, in Jungkook and Harlow's new song, it is expected that they will continue to create a big ḧïẗ with '3D'.
