The MAMA Awards have long been regarded as one of Asia’s biggest and most influential music award ceremonies, bringing together some of the leading artists in the K-pop industry. At the 2026 MAMA Awards, scheduled to take place on November 20 and 21 in Osaka, נαραи, BTS are once again nominated in several major categories, including Artist of the Year, Album of the Year for ARIRANG, Best Male Group, and Fans’ Choice.

Among these, Fans’ Choice (Bonsang) and Fans’ Choice of the Year (Daesang) have attracted particular attention, as their results depend largely on fan votes. According to the voting rules outlined, votes cast through the Mnet Plus app account for approximately 90% of the total, while votes on X make up the remaining 10%. The Daesang category will also include a live vote during the awards ceremony.

Voting is now entering a crucial stage and is expected to close on November 8. BTS are currently facing strong competition from several major acts, including BIGBANG, Stray Kids, ENHYPEN, and TXT. This has prompted ARMY to continuously encourage one another to step up their voting efforts and help secure the group’s position.

A recent move by Jungkook has particularly caught fans’ attention, suggesting that the members themselves are just as invested in this year’s awards results as their supporters.

On November 3, ARMY noticed that Jungkook had reposted a TikTok video from a fan account urging everyone to vote for BTS through the Mnet Plus app. His action quickly spread across social media. Many interpreted it as a sign that Jungkook supports the fandom’s voting campaign, while also indirectly encouraging ARMY to continue showing their support for the group at the 2026 MAMA Awards.

Some fans also viewed his move as a response to opinions that have previously circulated within the fandom, such as “BTS don’t care,” “BTS won’t even notice,” or “They’ve already won enough.” According to ARMY, the fact that BTS have already achieved so much and earned numerous accolades throughout their career does not make future awards any less meaningful. Every form of recognition carries its own significance, and all seven members deserve to have their talent, hard work, and contributions acknowledged.

This year’s voting campaign is also taking place amid allegations from some ARMY that Mnet and MAMA have shown a tendency to act “against” HYBE and BTS. One prominent example is BTS being excluded from two major dance-related categories — Best Dance Performance Male Group and Best Choreography — despite fans believing that the group’s performances this year were more than deserving of nominations. BIGBANG’s inclusion in these categories has further fueled debate among some fans.

Meanwhile, some supporters feel that the company has not fully backed BTS during this awards season, leaving the fandom to push harder with voting efforts in order to “save” the group themselves. They have pointed to what they describe as HYBE’s media play, including promoting newer groups such as CORTIS by αѕѕociating them with BTS’s achievements, publishing articles about awards that leave BTS out of the discussion, and comments from HYBE’s CEO suggesting that rookie groups’ success is being overshadowed by BTS.
