K-pop fans are surely all familiar with the 97-liner—a close-knit friend group made up entirely of male idols born in 1997, known for their top-tier visuals and talent. The group includes members from some of K-pop’s most popular acts, such as BTS’s Jungkook; SEVENTEEN’s Mingyu, DK, and The8; NCT’s Jaehyun; ASTRO’s Cha Eunwoo; and GOT7’s BamBam and Yugyeom, among many others.
Among them, Jungkook, Yugyeom, Eunwoo, and Mingyu are most often seen gathering together. It is rare for fans to witness all members of this large friend group in one place, which has led many to mistakenly believe that the 97-liner consists of only those four idols. Meanwhile, the members have stated that they remain in contact through a private group chat, frequently meet backstage at music shows, and also hang out privately.
Recently, what fans have heard the most about this friend group has likely been related to Cha Eunwoo’s tax evasion scandal. Although the other members of the 97-liner are uninvolved, they have not been able to avoid being dragged into online defamation by some overly extreme members of the public. Naturally, however, such unreasonable claims have not affected the idols, who continue to focus on their work. Mingyu—one of the core members of the 97-liner—is holding his CxM [Double Up] Live Party (2026) in Incheon on the 25th.
The performance is part of the concert series by SEVENTEEN’s unit CxM, which consists of leader S.Coups and Mingyu. The unit debuted on September 29, 2025, with its first mini album Hype Vibes. CxM [Double Up] Live Party is also the unit’s first standalone tour in 2026, with multiple dates across cities in South кσяєα, נαραи, and Taiwan.
Notably, on the final day of CxM’s кσяєα shows, fans spotted two members of the 97-liner—Jungkook and The8—sitting in the au∂ιєnce cheering them on. Photos and videos captured on-site by fans were later widely shared on social media, sparking a wave of excitement.
Jungkook appeared in his signature minimalist style, wearing a black bucket hat and a leather jacket that highlighted his athletic build. Meanwhile, The8 covered most of his face with a scarf and hat, opting for a comfortable sporty outfit. The two were seen frequently chatting while watching the SEVENTEEN duo’s performance below. It was one of the rare moments when fans got to see this 97-liner pair together.
