Jungkook’s New Nail Design Holds A Touching Meaning, Leaving Fans Emotional

It has been a week since the historic live broadcast where all seven BTS members officially announced their return after a three-year hiatus due to mandatory military service. At the time, BTS leader RM mentioned that all members would be heading to the U.S. to prepare for their new album, which is scheduled for release in the spring of next year.

On July 5, RM was the first BTS member to depart for Los Angeles, signaling that the group had begun executing their plan. Following that, on July 7, кσяєαn media widely reported that SUGA, Jimin, and Jungkook had also departed for the U.S. together, further confirming the group's preparations.

All three members appeared at the airport in comfortable outfits and high spirits, greeting the press and reαѕѕuring fans that they would return safely. Their warm gestures only heightened fans' excitement and anticipation for the much-awaited reunion.

Among the three, Jungkook drew the most attention due to a particular detail on his hand that differed from his usual appearance. In some of the photos taken, BTS’s youngest member was seen with fingernails painted in colors like black and blue.

At first, fans were simply delighted by his stylish look, but soon realized the nail polish carried a deeper meaning. As it turns out, Jungkook was subtly showing his support for the global campaign “Polished Man,” an initiative launched by the non-profit organization YGAP (Australia) to raise awareness and funds to combat νισℓєи¢є against children, especially physical and ѕєχual abuse.

The campaign’s symbol is a single painted fingernail — representing the 1 in 5 children worldwide who experience νισℓєи¢є before the age of 18. The movement encourages men (and everyone) to participate by painting one fingernail, sharing images with a message on social media, and donating to support global education, recovery, and νισℓєи¢є-prevention programs for children.

Polished Man has become a powerful symbol of positive masculinity, compαѕѕion, and advocacy for the most vulnerable. Now, by quietly highlighting it once again, Jungkook has helped bring awareness to the cause for many more people.

His action quickly drew attention and was met with countless appreciative comments:

- Jungkook painted his nails supporting the Polished Man movement to help end νισℓєи¢є against women and children. We are so proud of you jungkook

- Jungkook has always been a good boy. We are so proud of you

- He has such a pure heart. Thanks to him, I just know abt this campaign

- I'm fckn crying he's such a precious human being

- The little gestures he did was so endearing

- his actions speak louder than the words

- The best part about being a Bangtan Stan is they are the only seven men in tge world I trust not to embarrαѕѕ me

- Jungkook is just so perfect, just look at him and his heart is just so pure.

- thank you for raising awareness in little ways,i really love you si much

- I'm very proud, Jungkook is critical and cares about women's issues in this world

Interestingly, Jungkook’s support for the Polished Man campaign also recalls the Love Myself campaign, which he and BTS launched in collaboration with UNICEF in 2017 — a global initiative aimed at ending νισℓєи¢є against children and teens, while spreading the message of self-love.

Though the two campaigns differ in form and origin, both share a common humanitarian goal: protecting children and promoting kindness in society. With this small yet powerful gesture, Jungkook once again reaffirms his social responsibility and the positive global influence of a K-pop artist.
