Airports have recently become soмєтнing of a hotspot for fans and the media to keep an eye on BTS. Since completing their military service, the BTS members have frequently been spotted at airports, traveling for various schedules — whether to attend overseas events or to work on album production in the U.S.
At the end of last month, all BTS members returned to South кσяєα together after spending two months working at the group’s songwriting camp in Los Angeles. Just when fans thought their activities in the U.S. had wrapped up, true to their status as global artists, j-hope and Jungkook were once again seen departing for New York on the morning of September 11 — only about two weeks after coming home.
The two were reported to have departed from Incheon for their private schedules in the U.S. They looked striking even in casual, youthful outfits. Despite covering their faces with masks and baseball caps, their superstar aura was impossible to hide.
In many of the photos shared online, there are many reporters and fans following Jungkook and j-hope closely at the airport. Although the fandom has repeatedly urged fans not to crowd airports — both to avoid disrupting the idols’ schedules and to ensure public safety — many still come and shout. Meanwhile, reporters were there in full force as always, pointing their cameras at the two members from outside the building all the way into the terminal.
But what really pushed ARMY’s frustration to the peak was when several videos surfaced showing some reporters asking Jungkook “nonsense” questions that made him visibly uncomfortable.
In one video shared earlier, Jungkook was being escorted by his manager from the parking lot to the terminal entrance when a reporter asked him: "Jungkook-ssi, you got a haircut, right?" In response, Jungkook simply nodded and shook his head. While the gesture was undeniably cute, it also seemed to reflect that he wasn’t ready to answer.
In another video posted shortly afterward, a different reporter followed up with a similar question — and, unsurprisingly, received the same reaction from Jungkook. What was even more surprising was that in addition to asking about his haircut, this reporter went on to ask Jungkook two questions in a row about his weight, including: "Jungkook-ssi, you ℓσѕт a lot of weight, right?" or "You didn't lose weight?"
To that, Jungkook simply responded with a little shrug — a gesture that typically means “I don’t know,” “I’m not sure,” or even give up.
Following these interactions and Jungkook’s reactions, fans criticized the reporters for asking “absurd” and “intrusive” questions. They argued it would have been far better for reporters to ask interesting, relevant questions or simply offer good wishes for the members’ trip.
On social media, the videos quickly went viral, garnering a flood of attention and comments such as:
- tf is that question? losing weight seriously?
- The voices are so annoying oh god. and the questions are so weird too. Pls leave them alone
- Reporters are that stupid exercise isn't all about only losing weight it can be improving muscle mαѕѕ
- I need to know which reporter asked such a stupid question. Exercising isn't for losing weight, it's for increasing muscle mαѕѕ.
- Jungkook fasts from talking. The reporters’ questions were completely meaningless. If it were me, I’d have done the exact same thing.
- He was in a talkative mood. Did anyone notice Jhope holding JK’s wrist while talking to him and pointing to JK’s foot or leg? It’s good to see them. Are they headed back to LA?
- Listen NO ONE is allowed to talk about him getting a haircut except himself!! I think he wants to grow it out but if ppl do this he might choose not to like he low-key sulked in that one video where he said he didn’t like long hair anymore
- Why would you ask that question??? Please normalise not asking questions regarding weight loss or weight gain in the big year of 2025
- Oh please stfu. Because of your toxic beauty standards, all your celebrities are living on the brink of starvation.
- Why are they asking about his weight they are so weird
- He’s better than me coz I would start swinging
